Your 2015 Word

Each year a word comes to me that I know will play a big part in how my year unfolds. It is a word to inspire me and keep me focused. It is a word that just comes to me intuitively. So how do you pick a word? Check out this blog from a year ago where I explain the process.

My word for 2013 was expansion and WOW did I expand with loads of new classes and writing. It was exhausting and exhilarating! For 2014 it was balance because I was working way too much (12-14 hour days) and it was zapping my creativity. I can say that I achieved balance by the end of the year. And for 2015 I feel that the word is not just for me but is for everyone. That word is movement!

2015 year of movement

What does movement mean? The messages that have come to me are saying that movement in 2015 is about:

  • moving to a new home, a new city, or a new state;
  • moving to a new job or an entirely new career (taking that leap of faith to start that passion career);
  • moving into healthy relationships;
  • moving in the form of exercise or a better physical movement plan that you will stick to throughout the year;
  • moving towards a more organized life;
  • moving towards having solid goals that you actually achieve in 2015;
  • moving into a heart-centered life;
  • moving along your soul path;
  • moving along in your spiritual practice;
  • moving your beliefs to where they support rather than hinder;
  • moving your actions to where you listen to your intuition, are present to see messages, and then take inspired action; and
  • moving into alignment of all that you are, away from fear and to what you are on this Earth to do.

Movement is a loaded word; depending on where you are on this path called life, it could involve one or more of these movements. In speaking with many of my friends, colleagues and clients, I feel that everyone is going to go through a movement in 2015. I do not believe that this will be a shakeup that has everyone feeling anxious and disconnected like in recent years; instead, it will be a shift in the reality beneath your feet to nudge you in the direction you need to go. The movement will feel right even if there are no outward signs that say “go this way.”

For me, movement is already happening and it is so freaking exciting I can barely sit still! I am filled with enormous energy to get things in place and I am taking bold steps because it feels right. And when you feel excited with those I can do anything emotions, the Universe begins to dramatically line things up.

As I say to so many people:

You’re at A and you want to get to Z. You do not need to know specifically what to do from B to Y. All you need to know is the next step to take. After that, you will receive the next step, and the next step, and so on. These steps come in the form of intuition (hey, do this!), messages (like the church sign that said “You need to meditate!”), signals (a serendipitous happening that has meaning, even in the form of a Facebook post that is inspiring). When you are inspired and it feels right, snuff out the fear voice and take the step. When you look back in 6 or 12 months, you will be amazed how far you have come.

If you are satisfied with every aspect of your life, then you can ignore this. If not, think about what movement needs to or must happen in your life in 2015 to get you to where you want to be. Then think of another word that is personal to you and add that in.

Layering Energy: Packing a Wallop!

Have you ever layered energy? This is one of my favorite techniques and I want to share with you how I do it! Layering energy is where you work with two or more vibrational energy techniques to achieve greater balance and wellness at the physical, emotional, mental and/or spiritual energy layers.

I work with many different types of vibrational energies: color therapy, crystals, essential oils, Integrated Energy Therapy, Law of Attraction/Universal Laws, Reiki, sound therapy and tapping (emotional freedom technique). I have experienced and witnessed positive results with all of these methods individually. Now imagine that you layer and combine them for an even bigger wallop? Let me give you some examples:

  • Placing crystals on the chakras during Reiki sessions;
  • Adding Young Living essential oils to my fingertips and on pulse points for clients during an Integrated Energy Therapy sessions;
  • Adding colored pillows onto the chakras and placing crystals on top of the pillows;
  • Playing crystal singing bowls at the end of a healing session for added sound benefit;
  • Tapping with essential oils on fingertips or with crystals placed on the chakras;
  • Incorporating the Law of Attraction, visualization techniques, and working in harmony with Universal Laws during healing sessions or while enjoying essential oils, crystals and more.

Make sense? I have found very powerful combinations when layering energy. Energy works at the energetic level that seems mysterious to many people. And since energy takes time to unravel physical and emotional issues, some people become impatient and think it is not working. So if you can layer a combination of energy, you will surely find better results.

You may resonate with one or two methods more than others, so I encourage you to follow your heart and intuition and learn about what interests you. The more you learn, the more you will find yourself curious about other methods. This is why I teach a variety of different classes, share crystals, encourage people to join me on my essential oil adventure, and blog about a variety of topics.

The Life You Want: A Weekend in DC with Oprah

Oprah Winfrey, one of the most impactful inspirational leaders of the modern age, is throwing an 8-city The Life You Want tour and this past weekend she hosted in Washington D.C. I have attended many empowerment conferences but this one was leaps and bounds above all others. Why?

Oprah is a powerful speaker who penetrates your soul and gets you thinking and moving. And she had 4 amazing speakers (Elizabeth Gilbert, Mark Nepo, Rob Bell and Iyanla Vanzant). But there were 2 additional touches that sealed it for me: (1) three “time outs” during the event to write in our convention notebook to answer some deep questions and to write out action items, and (2) being among 10,000+ like-minded souls which included a lot of dancing and grooving to old school R&B spun by DJ Kiss! The power of everyone coming together in a common purpose and raising the energy through the roof was intoxicating

Since not everyone may have the opportunity to attend the convention (click here to check out the remaining cities), I want to share some pearls of wisdom from the speakers that are worth reading. Please take some time to read each of these and reflect on what it means to you. See how it resonates and whether it begins to stir something within you that you know deep down needs to change.

Oprah’s advice:

  • There is no life without a spiritual life. Any discord that you feel in your life is in direct proportion to your spiritual location.
  • When things are “off” or when you experience failure, life is pushing you in another direction. Listen to the push.
  • Life speaks in whispers. You can only hear them if you quiet yourself … everyday.
  • If you ever wonder why you are here having a human experience, it is because you were called to be here … to be here now. Don’t waste it.
  • Be present to see the ordinary moments in life as creating an extra-ordinary life.
  • Mine your own energy field, and stay out of others. Your field is where your power is; we have no power in other’s territory.

Mark Nepo’s advice:

  • Author of The Book of Awakening.
  • The longest journey you will make in life is from your head to your heart.
  • Don’t waste this rare life. Ask what you need to know. Say what you need to say. Do what you need to do. Be who you need to be.
  • We have to build our inner world (through reflection) or gravity of the outer world will crush us.
  • Wherever you are that isn’t comfortable, use it as information to launch you forward. Because when you feel misery, you are in the wrong spot and need to change direction.

Elizabeth Gilbert’s advice:

  • Author of Eat. Pray. Love.
  • Transformation is not supposed to be easy, or everyone would do it everyday.
  • Any movement can bring injury, so we do not move until we are pushed. But movement is growth.
  • At some point, we will all embark on a Quest (The Hero’s Journey) which is found within every culture, but never does the Quest involve a woman … it’s time to change that.
  • We receive a calling.
    • We embark on an adventure – there’s no going back
    • We encounter a road of trials and meet a trickster, wise elders, friends disguised as enemies, enemies disguised as friends
    • We live through a dark night of the soul
    • We call upon divine assistance to help us
    • We receive powers and talents to help us grow
    • We battle what we most fear
    • And we face the fear and win
  • When you have limitations/obligations in life that pre-empt a Quest (young children, caring for elder parents, financial restrictions), simply make a promise to do what you need to do at some point and then plan for it.

Rob Bell’s advice:

  • Author of What we talk about when we talk about God
  • We are not simply living a spiritual life, we are a spiritual life.
  • No matter what is going on, life is miraculous. Think of all that it takes, that we do not think about (such as breathing and cell regeneration) to keep us alive everyday.  That’s a miracle.
  • When you are grounded and present, everything in spiritual no matter how mundane.
  • The life you want is first embracing the life you have.
  • Unapologetically live your life, not the life that others want for you.

Iyanla Vanzant’s advice:

  • Author of a new book on Forgiveness: 21 Days to Forgive Everyone for Everything
  • The life you want is on the other side of painful labor. When life says push, you need to push! It’s not pretty at the time, but afterwards it’s glorious.
  • If you made it through the past, you passed so let it go.
  • If you don’t have silence, you cannot hear your life. And then you’re on your own and that’s why people feel loneliness among the chaos.
  • Your eyes adjust to the level of deficiency in your life, so you do not recognize it as a deficiency. But when you get quiet, you become aware of the deficiencies.

It is impossible for me to convey in words the power and inspiration received during this weekend with Oprah and her team. What I want to convey is that when an opportunity comes along to attend an event like Oprah’s The Life You Want or another empowerment conference, please put all excuses aside and GO! It will be an investment in yourself that never goes away.

I know that I am going through a massive shift right now and I know that no matter what happens during the labor, I always have and always will end up in a better place. Most people do not believe that, but I want to change that. So whether it’s attending an empowerment conference, reading books, or going through my past blogs where this has been a common theme … just take one step away from something that isn’t right and towards something that is. Just one step at a time is all you need and the light of your true life will begin to shine.

Forgiveness heals everything

Being human, it is natural that we will experience situations that are hurtful and cause resentment. I do not think that we can be humans without going through life unscathed. The key to moving beyond those moments is to forgive. Yet forgiveness is like finding the Holy Grail … sought after but not found.

Here’s a quick test:

  • Who or what do I need to forgive (be sure to include yourself)?
  • On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 1 being lowest), rate the resentment you feel towards the person or situation.

If you scored anything higher than a 4, it’s time to work on forgiveness. Why? Because when you are harboring unforgiveness, that’s negative energy that can create an energy block in your body. An energy block is like a clogged drain pipe and anything below that clog is not getting life-sustaining energy. Basically, those areas are being starved and you can end up with physical or emotional issues. Unforgiveness also blocks manifesting positive things that you desire.

My favorite statement about unforgiveness is: When you do not forgive, it is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. It’s so true! You may be consumed with resentment and clinging to a comment or situation that happened years ago and the other person is going on merrily with their life completely unaware that you are still festering. So who is really suffering? (Hint: The answer would be “you, the one drinking the poison.”)

Forgiveness is not something that you “do”, it is something that you feel. Saying “I forgive you” does not make it true. I go into great detail in one of my online classes about how to process unforgiveness; I dedicate an entire class to the topic because it is challenging to manifest what you want when you’re consumed with unforgiveness. The easiest way to describe getting to forgiveness is that when you can think of the person or situation and feel neutral, you have forgiven. There is no emotional connection. Anything other than neutrality means that you have some forgiveness to work out.

In 2012 I had a chance to hear Carolyn Myss speak and she talked about old energy as feeling the need to punish someone when something doesn’t go our way. Whereas the new energy is about forgiveness. Forgiveness is stopping ourselves from retaliating against a wrong, and recognizing that what happened brought out the worst in ourselves. Forgiveness is about choosing to stop the suffering and to forgive. When we forgive, we stop an energy cycle of pain; we stop the fear of the ego.

So how do you do it? Forgiveness is about seeing the other person or the situation in the best light that you can, release the person or situation, wish them well (even if they hurt you greatly because wishing them well may prevent someone else from being harmed) and then set them free. It’s a great visualization exercise to go through and you will feel better afterwards. I tell my students that when they do this, they are disconnecting an energy cord that has kept them connected to the person or situation. So when you release the cord, do not be surprised if the person makes an attempt to contact you, or a new situation develops exactly like the one you just released. If either of those happen, do not respond otherwise you will re-establish the connection.

What are some practical tools to support you while you are forgiving? These are my favs:

Ajoite

  • Crystals = a few of my favorites include Ajoite (photo), Apache Tear, Celestite, Cobalto Calcite, Danburite, Diopside, Rose Quartz, Sugilite. Obsidian Arrowheads are great for cord cutting but only do this only with a trained crystal healer.
  • Essential Oils = Young Living Forgiveness and Release oils.
  • Tapping = this is a great site to get you started

Forgiveness

I use all 3 of these tools when I am processing forgiveness because they may a powerful combination. Such as tapping with essential oils on my fingertips, or meditating with crystals while I diffuse the essential oils.

A word of advice … do not beat yourself up if you have loads of things to forgive. This is a big issue for most people, yet most people do not realize it’s an issue. So you’re already ahead of game simply by reading this. But then do something about it so that unforgiveness doestn’t away at your physical health, emotional health and life anymore. Make a decision to release it and then do it! You will then know that you have truly forgiven when you feel lighter, healthier and neutral.

Are we spiritually bankrupt?

I felt the need to write this post after the U.S. experienced its 74th school shooting since the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary school in December 2012. That’s 1 school shooting a week that is only happening in the U.S. Did you know that in addition to Manifested Harmony, I have worked for over 20 years in the field of helping crime victims? Although I’m not a prosecuting attorney in the courtroom anymore, I work to educate criminal justice professionals and communities about preventing violence and protecting our most vulnerable (particularly animals and children). I also offer energy healing to those who are suffering (both people and animals).

We cannot turn on the news anymore without the lead story being a mass shooting, an unexpected violent situation, or some other shocking disaster. We’re simply surrounded by it to where many people wonder, Is this the new reality? I have been looking deeper to identify why there is an increase (or an appearance in an increase) in mass violence and even one-on-violence. It’s like the whole world has gone berserk! Particularly in the U.S., we live in a world where we are bombarded with violent images (news, movies, video games, images on the internet) and we are numb to violence. So when the violence happens again and again, we do not have the energy to be outraged. It’s frankly common. The U.S. right now is no different than the war zones in the Middle East. And we are tolerating it.

I have the honor of working with the most respected and knowledgeable national organizations and leaders on preventing violence towards people and animals. And we are doing the best job that we can (through education, resources), prevention of violence efforts in the U.S. are failing. Just yesterday I had a conversation with an organization about how we are preaching to the choir and those people who need to hear messages about compassion, non-violence and peace will tune out. And while there are great theories on what we need to do to combat everyday violence, there’s one aspect missing in these discussions.

My answer … yes. I don’t mean spiritually bankrupt in that they need to do more yoga or spend more time in meditation. These people appear to have nothing “higher” or bigger than themselves that they belief in, have faith in, or can rely on when they are struggling. This is not a religions belief; it’s a faith that there is an overall plan to the Universe and how our world plays out; an energy that we can tap into to either live a life of joy or a bankrupt energy where we feel the world and everyone in it is out to get us. It is why we have a population of people who live in love and see the beauty in everything and therefore experience peace; and where we have a population of people who live in fear, harm each other (and animals) and believe that the world is a scary place.

We all know people who have suffered a trauma (whether small or large) and there’s one of two reactions that occur:

  • First: the person victimized is so traumatized that they shut down to where others wonder if part of their soul severed off for protection and they simply become a shell of a person wandering and drifting through life in extreme pain; they lose their faith in God/higher power; they fear/feel that the world is out to get them; or
  • Second: the person victimized is resilient and rises above the trauma due to their belief that their experience happened for a reason, and they turn that experience into something positive to benefit others (think Oprah, Elizabeth Smart, the 3 ladies who were held captive for a decade in Cleveland); they have faith and a deep knowing that there is a higher power that helped them survive.

It is the people in the first category that we need to worry about and locate. It is the people in the first category that you need to identify in your life, in your community and get them re-connect to the spiritual nature of our world. Why is this important?

Are these violent people spiritually bankrupt?  When someone has a spiritual connection, they have an innate understanding and faith in how the World works, the energy that comprises everything that is, that there is a greater Universal consciousness that governs everything (whether you call this God or some other deity), and that when you have faith in these unseen powers you are protected, guided and held safe. You have faith that everything will work out, that there are lessons even in painful situations, and that you are powerful because spiritual beings are immortal (it is only our human body that dies).

When you think about these violent people, do you think they fall into the first or second category? I think the overwhelming response is that they fall into the first category. You never hear news reports that these mass murderers were spiritually connected; instead, we hear how they were isolated, fearful, and on the fringe of society. The first person is often backwards thinking, obsessed with perceived wrongs, afraid of the world, other people, circumstances of our current society, they feel victimized (whether true or not) and isolated to where they feel that lashing out (often resulting in their own death) is the only option. The second person is more forward thinking, they see meaning in every experience (whether good or bad), they have faith that there is a greater power who will lift them up and protect them, they see that they can make a positive difference based on their experiences, and they take positive action to benefit humanity.

The difference between these two people, who could have had similar traumatic situations, is that the first person has no faith, no hope, no connectedness to all that is and other living beings, and cannot feel the invisible yet powerful energy from those who guide and protect us (angels, ascended masters, God/universal power). They have no problem taking a human or animal life because they have no empathy. When you have no empathy, you are spiritually bankrupt.

So what do we do? Identify these people in your life or community and begin to draw them back to their spiritual foundation. Give them a book that helps them to reconnect, invite them to a meetup where these topics are discussed, have a one-on-one conversation. This may seem simplistic when it comes to stopping someone who is hell bent on taking a machine gun to a movie theater, but you never know what you could prevent.

We cannot leave the safety of our planet to national or world leaders, or organizations working on prevention. It starts at home and in our community. We all have a responsibility to share our spiritual light. After all, we are spiritual beings having a human experience, right? We need to ensure that as a human we do not forgot the spiritual foundation of who we are and to help those who have lost that connection.

When relationships change

Choosing FriendsHow do you handle change? Do you welcome it or try to ward it off? Whether we like it or not, if we are not changing, we are not growing. So change is necessary to evolve in life. Yet we handle change with our heels dug firmly in the ground as we are dragged to our next station in life. That is resistance and is not a great way to go through life, right?

Relationships of all forms are not immune to change and will go through ebbs and flows over time. These relationships include family, friends, romantic, coworkers and so on. And regardless of the bond, change will occur. Don’t worry … embrace it!

Some relationships that are short-lived and are meant to serve a specific purpose (usually to help us learn something). These can be any type of relationship and when the lesson is played out, the relationship fizzles. When the relationship fizzles, it often raises concerns about “what went wrong.” Usually when you look back on these relationships after some time has passed, you may realize that the person came into your life for a specific purpose that has been resolved. Recognizing that can help both to move on without hurt feelings. So when a romantic relationship or friendship ends, or a job is lost, I tend to focus (and help others focus) more on the lesson(s) learned as a positive form of change rather than focusing on the negativity of the ending.

Other relationships are deeper and are intended to last longer, yet will go through change over time. We often see this with our family, especially our parents, where the relationship often grows stronger over time. These relationships are long-term to help support us through life-long lessons. So we may find that change and the lessons happen numerous times over the course of the relationship.

With the continued change of the energies that surround us, you should expect that relationships in your life will also continue to change. As we go through an evolutionary upgrade in this shift, or if you are actively growing spiritually, you may notice that some relationships no longer have the same feel or some people simply drift away. So instead of being reduced into a pile of emotional dribble, here are some ideas to help you handle the change of relationships with greater ease:

  • When you meditate or have quiet time, focus on the lessons learned from the relationship rather than dwell on why the person has left or drifted away. It is easy to get caught up in the “why” when it is more important to focus on the “what” from the lessons learned. Consciously and deliberately shift your focus and you will process the change better.

  • The crystal that I have found works the best during times of change is the Brandberg crystal. These crystals have a very high vibration, help you to connect to Source, they are attuned to the white flame of pure consciousness, are a stone of compassion, and excellent for soul work and forgiveness. They are said to be the best tool for removing attachments in the energy field, and this can include past attachments from relationships. I recently picked up a supply of highly quality Brandbergs from a crystal show that are available for sale. This crystal is simply amazing whether you are an experienced crystal aficionado or new to crystals.
  • A couple of essential oils can help with changing relationships include: Young Living Acceptance, Forgiveness, Gratitude, Harmony, Transformation, and Ylang Ylang.
  • Journal your feelings to get them out and process them. Through writing, you will often find the message and lesson of what you need to learn when you go back after a few weeks or months and read your entries.
  • And lastly, stop yourself from dwelling on the changed/lost relationship and do not push the relationship to continue as it was. Focus on gratitude for the person and wish them well. Although you may struggle with this at first, in time it will be genuine. When you can release the attachment, you release the resistance. And when this happens you may find that you accept and understand the situation better, and the relationship may even transform into a newer and better situation.

Change does not have to be difficult or sad. It is important to deliberately decide that you will handle the change to understand the message and lessons from the relationship. When that happens, you will be amazed at how free and joyful you will feel. Then you will have gratitude for the relationship and can wish the former relationship love and light.

Techies Need Healing Too: At South by Southwest

meet upManifested Harmony had the extreme honor of being the only (and very likely the first) energy healing business selected to attend the South by Southwest Interactive conference in Austin, Texas. I had no idea what to expect but quickly learned that about 40,000 tech/music/film professionals were present! Julie at sxswYesterday, my friend and healing student, Julie and I held an alternative healing meet-up for tech professionals! Our goal was to spread information about energy laws and energy healing to help them open to a new way to resolve stress and stay healthier and positive while working in stressful jobs. Why did we select this group of people? It’s easy to talk about these topics to people who are interested and seeking guidance; it’s a whole other basket of fun to talk to people who have never heard of energy healing and energy laws. This is where you make progress in the field; this is where you change a person’s life for the better. sxsw 1This is how we did it:

  • We made the room super vibey (new age music, diffusing essential oils, our friend Tanya brought and played her Tibetan singing bowls, candles)
  • We had tables representing various areas of interest, such as:
    • Energy, energy fields and chakras
    • Universal energies and the Law of Attraction
    • The science of crystals
    • ]The power of essential oils
    • Happy healthy pets
  • Talking one-on-one with each person about how energy laws and healing come together (it’s what Manifested Harmony is all about) and to answer specific questions
  • Sending each attendee off with crystals to help them on their path!

LOA displayWe met some fantastic people who know that they need to expand their horizon and embrace energy laws and healing to improve their lives. So I feel that our mission was accomplished and the trip was worthwhile! Now that Manifested Harmony has made its inaugural debut at SXSW, plans are already in the works to head back in 2015! Vibrational Energy 101

The Law of Attraction … The Secret … Energy Healing … Reiki … Crystals … Maybe you have heard these concepts being discussed by friends, saw a post on social media, or caught a glimpse of an article but really do not know what’s the fuss all about! Well let me tell you … it’s worth fussing about!

Did you know that you give off vibrational energy (a vibe) every moment of every day? It’s really important for you to know what your vibe is so that you’re not unintentionally throwing around vibrational junk. Because your vibes impact others, and other people’s vibes impact you! So here are 10 things that you need to know about vibrational energy to help you stay balanced and well:

1. Everything is made of vibrational energy (yes, everything!). You, your cat, your co-workers, your computer, absolutely everything! Think of it as a wave of invisible energy that streams every moment of the day and matches up with similar energy.
2. The Principle of Resonance says that when a larger vibration is present, similar vibrations will synchronize to it. So a lower vibration will sync to the higher. And the Principle of Entrainment tells us that a higher energy will dominant a lower energy of the similar frequency. And this higher vibration can be positive or negative. So if you encounter someone who is very negative (and they are strong and vocal about it), their vibration may take over and you begin to feel negative. Likewise if you encounter someone who is very happy (and exuding it), their vibration will raise your vibration.
3. Thoughts are measurable forms of energy, biochemical impulses, waves of energy. Everything you think, believe, say, do sends out energy. The easiest way to know what your vibrational energy is, is to simply look around you. Your current “reality” is from your vibration.
4. The Law of Attraction is the most powerful law in the universe …it measures your beliefs, thoughts, feelings, words and actions and then brings you like-vibrational things/people/situations. When you focus your energy and attention on something, it sends a message to the Universe that you want it (whether it’s good or bad). So if you’re worried and obsessed about lack of money, lack of health, lack of love, the Universe measures your vibe as focusing on lack and gives you more of it! The Universe responds by giving you more of what you most focus on.
5. Our body has a magnetic energy field of various layers (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and more). When disruptive (negative) imbalanced energy enters the energy field, it will manifest as a physical ailment after penetrating all of the layers. With healing therapies, these imbalances can be detected and moved out of the energy field before entering the physical body (for both people and pets).
6. Energy healing techniques work on the body and energy field to promote relaxation. Because a relaxed body can repair itself!
7. Fun fact: A cat’s purr is vibrationally healing! This is why some cats stay by our side when we are feeling unwell.
8. Crystals are more than pretty stones, they actually have scientific support! Crystals are pure vibrating healing energy from the Earth. Because of the fixed, orderly structure of crystals, our bodies can sync to the vibration of the crystal (because the crystal is a stronger vibration). And when we can vibrate along with the Earth’s vibrational frequency (7.82 Hz), we feel our healthiest! (This is why earthing/grounding, walking on beach or barefoot in the woods, leaves us feeling fantastic).

9. When you have an energy healing session (from a qualified practitioner), the pure vibrational energy will provide unparalleled physical and emotional relaxation. When you are relaxed, you are balanced; and when you are balanced, you are well. Everyday life, however, can throw off that balance which is why energy healing on a consistent basis is as important as consistent exercise, healthy eating and sleeping!

What did you say?

Shine a Light experimentHave you ever consciously listened to what you say throughout the day? Or do you speak out of habit? Do you mainly speak positive words? Negative words? Words of praise or limitation?

The Law of Attraction feeds off of our beliefs, thoughts, emotions and spoken words. If you have been working diligently on being more positive and happy but still do not have the manifestations that you desire, it is time for you to look at the words that you say throughout the day.

So this week I am putting out a Shine a Light Experiment! This is a simple yet eye-opening experiment to spotlight any negative words that you speak. I really want you to give this a try!!! For one entire day (more is better) from the moment you wake up to the moment to fall asleep, I want you to be conscious of what you say and to write down any negative word that you utter. Be honest and write them all down because it will be transformative (for the better!). Some of the most common negative words to be on the lookout for are: can’t, won’t, don’t, not, worry, fear, terrible, distrust, difficult, challenge, wrong.

It may seem counter-productive to make a list of negative words that you utter, but it is actually a great method to point out how often we blindly utter words without much thought. We do this out of habit. This experiment will make you conscious of what you say and that is a significant first step towards changing your words thus changing your vibration.

When you want to shift your vibration to a more positive energy, it takes more than a positive outlook; it also takes looking at the words that you commonly use everyday. So grab a journal or notebook (one that is small that you can conveniently carry) and get writing! I am eager to see how you do!
