Shine your Light into Darkness

Bombs exploding … adults and young children killed … people disfigured as the bomb severs off body parts … people running for their lives in panic. You would think that I’m talking about war zones in the Middle East. But this actually occurred on Monday in Boston at the finish line of the world famous Boston Marathon.

Terrible things happen in the world and it can be very defeating for those of us who actively engage the Law of Attraction (like attracts like). After the Aurora movie theater shooting, I wrote an article called “Why do good things happen to good people?” (You can get a copy of this free, insightful article when you sign up to be an Energy Emissary on my website homepage). So how are we supposed to go through life working towards joy and having a fulfilled life when unexpected tragedies can land directly in front of us and destroy everything we hold dear? My answer is simple …. Light.

Have you heard of the term “lightworker”? It is often used to reference those of us who are here on planet Earth at this time to bring healing, awareness and evolvement. There are countless lightworkers on this planet, and I am one of them (I did not know that until a few years ago). But I like to use the term lightworker in an even broader sense. You do not need to be certified or trained in an energy healing technique, or have one of the claires (clairaudient, clairvoyant, clairsentient, claircognizant), or have a special spiritual gift, or even be doing anything that is, per se, spiritual. To me, a lightworker is someone who naturally brings light into this world.

A lightworker brings light through a positivity, an attitude of gratitude, seeing the good in people, situations and things, and always believing and conveying, “all will be fine.” These are people who uplift us when we feel down, who calm us when we are sad or angry, who support us when we are beaten down. They literally bring light and clarity into our worlds during our darkest moments.

I absolutely believe with my whole lightworker heart that there are more lightworkers than darkworkers. This is a Universe of opposites, so where there is goodness and light, there must be evil and dark. It’s just the way the Universe operates. And the more we are faced with this darkness, the more went send a vibrational wish to the Universe for “I don’t like the dark, send me more light.”

I am here to tell you that there is far more light in the world than dark. So when we experience days like the Boston Marathon bombing, the Sandy Hook and Aurora mass killings, 9/11, wars and even the Titanic, we need to shine our individual light. Here’s 3 simple steps on how to do that:

  1. Do not dwell on the negative news stories about the latest tragedy. Once you learn of it, turn the TV off and refocus your energy on love, light and joy. Spend time doing whatever brings you the most joy. Maybe it’s spending time with your family, your pets, enjoying the outdoors, going for a walk or run, dancing, singing, painting, writing, spending time with crystals, getting an energy healing session, anything that brings out the best in you. Whatever it is … DO IT!
  2. After you have refocused your energy, send out your light to others by interacting with people, being uplifting, reassuring them, redirecting their attention away from the tragedy, sending energy healing (if you know how), or praying.
  3. Then share with others what you know about being a lightworker. Tell them how you are able to focus on the light during dark times and encourage them to do the same.

Collectively, when we do anything together it sends a power vibrational message out into the Universe. Collectively, we can take our individual light and join together with others to shine an unending bright light.  This is why people form together in candle light vigils …. they come together to shine a collective light. The students at Hogwarts did this with their wands pointed to the sky after Professor Dumbledore was killed; the light from their collective wands banished the Dark Mark.

Remember, we cannot permanently eliminate the dark from this world; but we can banish it by shining a light. So shine your light and be a lightworker.
