The Concern with Other People’s Money

We live in a society where everyone wants to have financial abundance, right? The phrase financial freedom is now common and is often the most requested wish in prayers, affirmations, vision boards and intention setting. Everyone, no matter where they live, their education, their culture, wants to live without money worries. We live in a money driven world and having money provides security and safety. But most people have money blocks.

What is a money block? It’s a belief system that is stored in your energy field that holds your true un-politically correct belief about money. If you are praying, visualizing and intending for financial freedom/abundance but you have a core belief that is the opposite, the core belief wins out every time.

So why I am talking about this today? It’s because I am seeing more and more social media posts where people are shaming others for making large sums of money. In particular, a post is making the rounds again about large annual salaries of non-profit organization CEOs. And recently I learned that one of my business mentors has been publicly shamed for what she charges for her services; amazing services that have given her financial freedom to do the work that she loves. Don’t you want to be paid to do the work that you love?

Here’s what I think when I see people sharing money shaming posts and expressing outrage about the money that other people make:

  1. Is the information actually accurate? It amazes me how people are quick to forward something without verifying that it’s true. So much online information is not accurate. So by sharing, you are making an assumption on a false belief that it’s true. And when you then attach your negative opinion (your energy) about how much money other people make, it sends out an energy wave of negativity that will come back on you but will also impact those around you. That’s just a bad move, so don’t do it!
  2. Even if the information is true about other people’s money, who are we to judge what another high-level leader makes in a salary? Businesses and non-profits have boards of directors who have approved a CEO’s salary. And we do not know what the CEO has to do for that salary (e.g., the number of hours worked each week, the stress of holding a business on his/her shoulders, etc.) or whether the CEO donates a large portion of the salary back to the company. But the instant assumption is negative (e.g., the CEO is greedy so don’t donate to that non-profit) rather than positive (e.g., the CEO has donated a portion of the salary to building an animal sanctuary or a children’s hospital). When people react negatively about other people’s money, this is a core belief that money is evil and you cannot do good things or be a good person if you have a 7-figure or higher salary.
  3. When you privately, and publicly, criticize another person for achieving financial freedom, that solely speaks to your insecurity, jealousy, and recognition that you do not have the right vibration or energy to draw in financial freedom. Misery loves company, right? So you shame the other person for making good money. The first response is to attack the person rather than celebrate the person for achieving financial abundance.

There is more than enough money and stuff to go around for everyone. There is no shortage of money but there is a shortage of the money mindset. If you have a shortage of money, this is directly related to your money vibe. Your reaction relates to your core belief around money. If you cannot be happy for others who are financially thriving, then you have a money block and you will not thrive. You cannot speak negatively about someone (even someone you don’t know) and expect to have good things happen. Your reaction has nothing to do with the other person’s money and everything to do with your poverty mindset, the “why don’t I have money” mindset. If you were offered a 7-figure income as the CEO of a nonprofit organization that could change the world, would you turn it down? Of course not. That may sound harsh but I feel that it’s a message that everyone needs to hear.

When we are so quick to condemn people for making good money, it is an emotional attack (often from behind the safety of your computer) that was not caused by the other person; it was totally set in motion by you. And when you share a post, it has the same energy as if you initiated the post. As I was writing that sentence, this article on emotional attacks came into my inbox and it’s totally worth reading. Now that’s serendipity.

ThinkingSo what can you do to raise your money vibe and stop worrying about other people’s money?

    • Be grateful that others are making a good living doing the work that they love because they are giving you a road map to show that it can be done! Be grateful for those teachers, figure out what makes them successful, and then model what they do! Of course, make sure that they are a person of integrity. There are so many integrity money makers out there that it will not be difficult to find a mentor.
    • Work with these crystals: Carnelian, Citrine, Green Aventurine, Malachite and Pyrite.

  • And my personal favorite are these essential oils: Abundance, Gratitude, Oola Faith, Oola Field, Oola Finance all enhanced with Oola Grow! I love to diffuse Abundance and Gratitude (separately) and then I combine the 4 Oola oils in my hand and cup my palm over my nose and inhale the energy while reciting money vibe affirmations (e.g., I am financially free and working/contributing to society in a positive way). I do this 3 times per day until I no longer worry about money. It really works!

When you can be grateful for what you have and spend less time focusing on what other’s have, you will quickly see how things will change for the better. Thoughts create things … so make sure you have good thoughts!

Where’s my blanket fort? Handling overwhelm with grace

When I say blanket fort, what do you think of? I think back to the days of my childhood where I spent hours erecting the perfect blanket fort, with chairs lined up perfectly to hold the appropriately matching colored blankets, and the tranquil interior filled with blankets, fluffy pillows, my Nancy Drew books, Etch-a-Sketch, graham crackers, the family cat and everyone with cooties was banned.

Doesn’t that sound lovely … especially during times of feeling overwhelmed??

I often get myself into situations where I feel overwhelmed. It’s totally my doing because I tend to take on way too much (all for the greater good of helping people and pets as I rationalize my 12+ hour work days, often 7 days a week). So here’s what I’ve done lately that made me want to retreat to my childhood fort:

  • I made a huge life move from 11 years in Virginia back home to Michigan (with all of the stress of buying a house, selling a house, packing, moving, getting unpacked and set up, while keeping the kitties calm);
  • Two days after the move I felt strongly that I needed to sign up for Marie Forleo’s intensive B-School before registration closed, so I dove in to her 8-week course (which I am loving, but the timing was a bit overwhelming);
  • Three weeks after the move I signed up for a 6-week Chemistry of Essential Oils class (which I also love);
  • I’ve attended two in-person essential oil trainings (with more on the horizon) which were amazing;
  • I’ve held 5 workshops and webinars;
  • I’ve maintained my animal protection, including travel, work while balancing the set up of Manifested Harmony;
  • I have several new classes that I really want to develop;
  • I’m enjoying reconnecting with my Michigan tribe and getting back into ballroom dancing;
  • And the list goes on and on.

While there is some work that I’m not entirely enamored with these days, everything else I absolutely adore and love which is why I keep piling it on! I am ravenous when it comes to learning and sharing what I’ve learned. But two weeks ago, I hit the blanket fort wall. I looked at my chalk wall board in my office and thought holy crap, how am I going to get through all of this?

Have you been there? I think you have. And what is our natural instinct? We start to shut down and our productivity comes to a grinding halt which makes us feel even worse. And then when we’re not checking off our to-do list because we’re overwhelmed, we then feel even more overwhelmed. Right? #viciouscycle

So what did I do? I crafted my adult version of the blanket fort which contains sparkly fairy lights, my survival kit of Young Living Essential Oils (high frequency oils like Neroli, Rose, Sacred Mountain, Stress Away), crystals (my favorite Brandberg, some Prehnite, and lots of grounding crystals like Black Tourmaline), an inspiring book, my 3 cats weaving in and out, and wine (I put oils in the wine, so that makes it healthy, right?)! And when I come out for a small break, I only watch The Hallmark Channel and The Love Boat which I recently found on Pop TV! Squuuuueeee!!!!!! Why those shows? They are all heart-felt shows/movies that leave you feeling good. I’ve also taken to building fairy houses (check out my creation below)! Taking some ME time – to do nothing that will save the world – is just what I need to re-energize.

Fairy houseHere’s the thing about getting overwhelmed: acknowledge it, let yourself have some downtime, do things that bring you joy, but don’t wallow too long otherwise it’s difficult to crawl back into productivity. Then just add one thing to your list for the day and overhwleovermake sure you get that done. Then the next day, add one more task. By the end of the week you’ve checked off 7 tasks and 30 by the end of the month! And most of all, give yourself permission to be gentle on yourself. Being gentle does not mean being lazy and shirking responsibilities; it means giving yourself time each day to just do something nurturing and kind for yourself.

Stop letting others feed on your energy

If you work with vibrational therapies (energy healing, angels, essential oils, crystals, sound, color) or are an intuitive or empath, you may experience the situation of other people are feeding off of your higher vibrational energy. Your energy will naturally raise simply by working with these modalities. Over the years, I have studied and practice the Law of Attraction, lived in synchronicity with Universal Laws, worked with Reiki, angelic healing, crystals, essential oils, color therapy and sound therapy. In doing this, my vibrational energy has increased and made me aware of this feeding.

When someone’s vibrational energy increases, there are certain groups of people who are attracted to that energy. They want to feed off of it to feel better. For some people who feed, it raises their vibrational energy and that is a great thing for our planet. For other people who feed, their vibration remains low but it drains us of our energy. That is an unhealthy relationship and it is these people who often have us feeling badly, uncomfortable and out of sorts. These people have been referred to as energy vampires. They may have no idea what they are doing, but most of us can see them a mile away. But because of our empathetic nature, we want to help them.

So what can you do to maintain your high vibration while helping others? Here are my top five recommendations:

  • An intuitive in Sedona shared a brilliant technique with me last Fall. When you sense that someone is feeding from your energy, call on Archangel Michael and ask him to connect the other person with their own energy source. It’s that simple. It is a kind gesture on your part because when they can connect with their own source energy, they can raise their vibration without draining yours. If they choose not to raise their vibration, the source energy may make them feel uncomfortable and disconnected as a wake up call that they need to shift gears. They will also feel out of sync with you and stop feeding on your energy. It’s a win win for all.
  • il_570xN.557729163_2hfmWear protective crystals, but not crystals that block because blocking crystals will cut you off from helping and sensing (which is contrary to our purpose in life). A great protective crystal that keeps your vibration high is Labradorite! Healingcrystals.com has beautiful Labradorite necklaces and Etsy has loads of jewelry that you can wear and infuse your energy field. Put the bracelet on and you will have an energy field around you that is protective and nurturing at the same time. It’s like Wonder Woman and Hello Kitty meshed together (giggle)!
  • White angelica1Young Living White Angelica is a beautifully scented oil blend that protects your energy field while raising your vibration. It is specifically recommend for those working with energy therapies and warding off negative energy. I spritz my healing room with White Angelica before and after sessions. The vibrational frequency of this blend is 89 MHz. Other high frequency oils from Young Living are Frankincense (147 MHz), Helichrysum (181 MHz), Joy (188 MHz), Rose (320 MHz) and Sacred Mountain (176 MHz).
  • Fill your home and/or workspace with crystals and diffuse the essential oils recommended above.
  • Make sure you have quiet reflective/meditative time everyday. This is the best way to keep yourself connected to source energy.

When you are called to work with vibrational energy, it does not mean that you sacrifice your energy at the same time. You do not have to adopt the attitude of blocking and banning other energy; instead, transmute it by protecting yourself and keeping your vibration high which then resonates with all.

Finding your creative space

Do you have a space that is just for you, where you feel great, where you’re super charged to get those creative juices flowing, and could just sit and create endlessly? I hope so because it is absolutely essential for everyone to create regardless of your work, age, or situation).

We came here to this glorious human experience to create. We are creative beings by nature. When we’re not creative, we are dwindling. We should create everyday. Some of us create through writing (like this blog), through teaching, through raising children, through raising companion animals, through building things with our hands, through cooking, and so on. I often find that creative juices can be squelched when there is not a proper space to create.

Creative spaces can come in all different forms. Mine (pictured above) is my home office, filled with crystals, sacred geometry crystal grids, vision boards, inspiring books, diffusing essential oils, a sunny window with a beautiful Dogwood tree outside, a cat (or two) in the cat perch, inspirational affirmations and books, my creative Crystal Sonic Therapy music, and even a pen with a huge neon pink daisy on top! But creative spaces can also be a garage, a garden, a kitchen, or a small corner where you have a spiritual alter or other place to sit and reflect on your creativity.

The goal is to have a place that is specifically yours! It’s a space where you feel your best and can open the sacral chakra creative center to connect with your heart, your voice and your brain to flow your ideas into being. It’s a place where you can have your creativity tools at your fingertips.

Golden SeleniteWhat are some of my favorite tools to have in my creative space? For crystals I have Golden Selenite (super high vibrational manifestation crystal in the photo above), a 12 inch Flourite tower (provides balance, eliminates chaos, increases concentration), Orange Calcite (for a creativity boost), a natural Chalcedony geode (just because it looks pretty) and Black Tourmaline surrounding my technology (to block the EMFs). I also have a work crystal grid that my Lakshmi (Goddess of Abundance) oversees that contains a natural Citrine tower, some Green Aventurine, Prehnite with Epidote, Emerald, Malachite, amplified with Clear Quartz points and anchored with Pyrite. For essential oils, I like to diffuse Young Living Clarity, Harmony and Transformation oils. Oh, and don’t forget my neon pink flower pen!

Pink flower penThe goal of having your own creative center is to make it yours; select items that make you feel good, make you smile, encourage you when you have a creative block, and make it the best cozy energetic space to do your best energetic work! I have written 2 books, a half dozen book chapters, created a few dozen classes, written a few hundred blogs and newsletters, and conversed with many of you on social media from my creative space. It’s why I often find myself still working each evening, even after a 12 hour+ day. It just feels good to sit there and create. Like right now.

When relationships change

Choosing FriendsHow do you handle change? Do you welcome it or try to ward it off? Whether we like it or not, if we are not changing, we are not growing. So change is necessary to evolve in life. Yet we handle change with our heels dug firmly in the ground as we are dragged to our next station in life. That is resistance and is not a great way to go through life, right?

Relationships of all forms are not immune to change and will go through ebbs and flows over time. These relationships include family, friends, romantic, coworkers and so on. And regardless of the bond, change will occur. Don’t worry … embrace it!

Some relationships that are short-lived and are meant to serve a specific purpose (usually to help us learn something). These can be any type of relationship and when the lesson is played out, the relationship fizzles. When the relationship fizzles, it often raises concerns about “what went wrong.” Usually when you look back on these relationships after some time has passed, you may realize that the person came into your life for a specific purpose that has been resolved. Recognizing that can help both to move on without hurt feelings. So when a romantic relationship or friendship ends, or a job is lost, I tend to focus (and help others focus) more on the lesson(s) learned as a positive form of change rather than focusing on the negativity of the ending.

Other relationships are deeper and are intended to last longer, yet will go through change over time. We often see this with our family, especially our parents, where the relationship often grows stronger over time. These relationships are long-term to help support us through life-long lessons. So we may find that change and the lessons happen numerous times over the course of the relationship.

With the continued change of the energies that surround us, you should expect that relationships in your life will also continue to change. As we go through an evolutionary upgrade in this shift, or if you are actively growing spiritually, you may notice that some relationships no longer have the same feel or some people simply drift away. So instead of being reduced into a pile of emotional dribble, here are some ideas to help you handle the change of relationships with greater ease:

  • When you meditate or have quiet time, focus on the lessons learned from the relationship rather than dwell on why the person has left or drifted away. It is easy to get caught up in the “why” when it is more important to focus on the “what” from the lessons learned. Consciously and deliberately shift your focus and you will process the change better.

  • The crystal that I have found works the best during times of change is the Brandberg crystal. These crystals have a very high vibration, help you to connect to Source, they are attuned to the white flame of pure consciousness, are a stone of compassion, and excellent for soul work and forgiveness. They are said to be the best tool for removing attachments in the energy field, and this can include past attachments from relationships. I recently picked up a supply of highly quality Brandbergs from a crystal show that are available for sale. This crystal is simply amazing whether you are an experienced crystal aficionado or new to crystals.
  • A couple of essential oils can help with changing relationships include: Young Living Acceptance, Forgiveness, Gratitude, Harmony, Transformation, and Ylang Ylang.
  • Journal your feelings to get them out and process them. Through writing, you will often find the message and lesson of what you need to learn when you go back after a few weeks or months and read your entries.
  • And lastly, stop yourself from dwelling on the changed/lost relationship and do not push the relationship to continue as it was. Focus on gratitude for the person and wish them well. Although you may struggle with this at first, in time it will be genuine. When you can release the attachment, you release the resistance. And when this happens you may find that you accept and understand the situation better, and the relationship may even transform into a newer and better situation.

Change does not have to be difficult or sad. It is important to deliberately decide that you will handle the change to understand the message and lessons from the relationship. When that happens, you will be amazed at how free and joyful you will feel. Then you will have gratitude for the relationship and can wish the former relationship love and light.

5 Tips for a Creativity Surge!

Do you consider yourself a creative person? Are you someone who is full of ideas, projects, imaginative stories, innovation? Or do you feel like a dull turnip unable to spew out anything original? Whether you feel like you score zero on the creative scale, or feel like you are temporarily in a creative slump and need a boost, these 5 tips are Allie-tested to super boost your creativity.
1.  Quiet your mind (hint: this is called meditation!). I know that you may cringe at this, but the number one sure-fire way to tap into your creative-self is to quiet your mind (daily) and let your inner self reveal creative ideas. I’m really serious about this … at least 10 minutes a day of quiet time will boost your creativity. Manifested Harmony came to me during a meditation; several programs that I created to help crime victims (that have gone national) came to me in meditation. It works!
2.  Journal your thoughts. When you can spend time daily (or even weekly) to write out your thoughts, you may find a jewel amongst the gibberish. Julia Cameron in The Writer’s Way suggests 3 pages of hand written notes every day to get the creative juices flowing. I’ve done this and it works! It’s amazing to go back weeks or months later and read what you have written. What may have seemed nonsensical at the time may now shine through with innovation!

Creativity grid3.  Grab some creativity crystals. These are my super-powered creativity crystals (as seen in the photo): Amethyst, Carnelian, Tangerine Quartz, Rhodochrosite, Citrine, Dumorterite. Also consider Orange Calcite, Crocoite, Yellow Flourite, . But beware … these worked so well and so fast for me, I had to take down the grid because I was overwhelmed with surges of creativity!

4.  Spend time opening and balancing your Third Eye Chakra. Your third eye is the seat of your intuition. When you are fully engaged with your intuitive self, you will receive unimaginable guidance. This comes through as ideas, insights, flashes, and messages. But the trick to tapping into your intuition is to NOT second-guess those ideas, insights, flashes and messages; it’s about trusting what literally pops into your mind. Journal these ideas to keep track of them. To balance your Third Eye, place crystals that are dark blue or purple in color on your forehead. Also, Young Living Awaken and Transformation essential oils are fantastic for rubbing directly on your forehead to open the Third Eye Chakra.

5.  And lastly, make sure that your Sacral Chakra is in balance. The Sacral Chakra, two inches below your belly button, is where you creativity center is located. If you are experiencing digestive, intestinal or lower organ issues, this is a physical sign that your creativity is out of balance. Place orange colored crystals on your abdomen and eat foods that are orange or red in color to help stimulate your Sacral Chakra.

As humans we are meant to be creative beings; without creativity, the evolution of our planet comes to a screeching halt. Creativity comes in many different forms. So what creativity are you meant to show to the world?

Are you going backwards?

Do you sometimes feel like your life is moving backwards? That things that you thought were completed and finished have cropped up again? You may be experiencing Mercury Retrograde!

I am not an astrologer but I have spent over two decades fascinated by the science of astrology. I am also highly affected by Mercury retrograde so I have studied this planetary movement extensively and tread lightly during this time.

Mercury retrograde occurs 3 times a year in 3 week spans. It’s when Mercury appears to be going backwards (it really is not). For the final time in 2013, we entered Mercury retrograde on October 21, 2013 and through November 10, 2013. During this time, you may notice that things are a bit topsy tursy. Mercury is the planet of communication, truth seeking, transportation and intelligence. This time is Mercury’s way of going back over territory to see if anything needs to be changed. It’s a time to review and revise anything that is not serving your best interest.

So what happens when Mercury turns retrograde?

  • You miss appointments
  • Your technology goes haywire (computers crash, files are not saved, connections are lost)
  • Things become lost
  • Things that you purchase don’t work
  • Contracts that you sign have problems and need renegotiating
  • New projects/jobs that you start are not what you thought they would be
  • People say things they will later want to take back
  • Relationships may end

So how do you handle Mercury retrograde without going bonkers? Here’s a few practical tips:

  • Backup your computer files
  • When traveling, give yourself extra time for delays
  • Be very aware of your actions so that you don’t lose anything or get lose
  • Reflect on the past to determine what is and is not working for you
  • Your intuition will be heightened
  • Think before you speak
  • Try not to sign any contracts during this time
  • Go back to work on projects that you have not had time for
  • Don’t start anything new
  • Don’t take things so personally (be flexible and understanding)
  • Have considerable down time to reflect and review

Jacob w ribbon 102113So if you sense that things are coming undone or unraveling, take a look to see whether it is something that you really should have. It could be a message from Mercury giving you a do-over.

If you want to adorn yourself with crystals during this time, here are a few recommendations: Blue Lace Agate (to soothe frayed emotions), Black Tourmaline (for grounding your technology), Moonstone (eases anxiety), Pyrite (removes energy chaos), Rose Quartz (keeps your heart/emotions balanced), Selenite (helps you stay centered).

If you like essential oils, I recommend these (especially diffusing them in the air): Young Living Joy, Clarity, Peace & Calming, and Release.

And remember, if you expect Mercury to create upheaval in your life, the Law of Attraction genie will rock your world. So embrace these three weeks and give yourself a little downtime to look at how your life is going, tap into your heightened intuition, and then be ready to make change and start new things once Mercury is back on track.

Meet, Greet & Heal!

Expo Mar 2013

Over the past several years, I’ve really enjoyed connecting with all of you through social media and the internet. It’s amazing to discuss topics of healing and wellness with people just around the corner or on the other side of the world! Love love love that!!!

But I also love love love to connect in person with people (and their companion animals). There’s a lot going on with Manifested Harmony over the next several months. So check out these opportunities for us to connect if you live in the greater Washington D.C. area!

Events

  • August 17 = Join me and other Energy Emissaries for a visit to a Buddhist Temple in Poolesville, MD where we will relax amongst a room full of crystals and visit the outdoor healing gardens (weather permitting). Email me if you want to car pool or meet us there at 10:00am.
  • August 31 = I will be at Pro Feed pet store in Alexandria (Belle View plaza) from 11am – 1pm. I’m there to answer questions about energy therapy for pets and give some advice if your pet is struggling with a physical or behavioral issue. Bring your pet by and I’ll give a complimentary mini-healing session!
  • September 28 & 29 – I will gather with other Energy Emissaries at the Hay House I Can Do It Conference at National Harbor. Please email me to let me know if you will be there and we’ll schedule a meet up for everyone.
  • Sunday, October 6th – I will have a booth at Pathway’s Natural Living Expo. I’ll be offering mini-healing and coaching sessions, will have the BioMat for you to enjoy, will have elixirs and other goodies for you to sample, and will have a lot of information available to help you live your best life! This is a great event with so many fantastic vendors. 
  • October 26 = I will be at Pro Feed pet store in Alexandria (Belle View plaza) from 11am – 1pm. Gotta have self care

If you are involved in the healing arts or work in a profession where you help others, it is really important that you take care of yourself. You cannot help anyone until you help yourself!

This is an issue that is near and dear to my heart because everything that I am involved with (and it is a lot!!!) is about helping others and usually helping others who are in a bad situation (i.e., abused/neglected animals). And while I certainly have times where I do not provide enough self-care to myself, as time goes on I realize that if I am not energetically balanced, I cannot help anyone else. Depleting oneself is being a martyr … and that’s not a good thing sweet pea!

ExhaustedNo matter how busy you are (and I’m not immune to 15-hour days, working on one of many projects 7 days a week and then landing face first into my computer), it is important to take a little time for yourself every day … or at least a few times a week. If you do not, you will deplete yourself beyond recognition and it will take 20 times the energy to get yourself back. When you are depleted and energetically out of balance, you cannot maintain a healthy body and mind, you cannot help your children, family and/or companion animals, and if you are in the healing arts like me, you are not helping your clients.

So here are some of my favorite quickie balancing tips for you to try at home or even when you’re on the road:

  • Always have a crystal (or a bag of crystals) on you at all times. When you are feeling depleted or out of balance, any crystal will help bring you into balance. The good ones to carry are Clear Quartz, Amethyst, Citrine. I always carry a little bag of chakra crystals with me. No matter where I’m at, if I can find a place to lie down, I will give myself a mini-chakra balancing treatment. And yes, I have sprawled out in some very interesting locations.
  • If you have essential oils, inhale a deep breath of goodness! Whatever oil you have on hand will help, especially Lavender, Peppermint, Sandalwood and Patchouli. You will always find me with my Young Living Peace & Calming and Grounding oils. I even travel with them!
  • Take a hot bubble bath (even if the weather outside is steamy). When I was traveling last week (in the most magical place of Disney World), I was frizzled after a full day of teaching. I could barely drag my body to dinner. So rather than push myself, I took a bubble bath followed by a crystal chakra treatment. It did the trick!
  • Whether you are a consistent meditator or not, take a few minutes (even just 5) to put yourself in a quiet and peaceful place (indoors or outdoors), close your eyes, and just focus on breathing fully and completely. You can even invite crystals and/or essential oils to participate.
  • Go outdoors and put those pretty little feet on the ground! Many of us live in a concrete jungle and wearing shoes had disconnected us from the healing energy of Mother Earth. Ground yourself and connect to healing energy by walking or sitting directly on the ground.
  • If you are near water, or if you can even find a YouTube video of a waterfall or the crash of ocean waves, spend a little time with the healing sound of water. Or if you have a desktop water fountain, just tune everything out and focus on that for a few minutes.
  • Find some soothing new-agey music and play it! A few of my favorites are HemiSync Gaia, Schumann’s Resonance, and Wayne Dyer’s I Am meditations. After 5 minutes, I am down right Buddah-like!
  • Take a technology break. For one evening (or an entire day or weekend), unplug from the matrix. E-mail, Facebook, Twitter and even television can zap your energy. We are not built to be bombarded with so much information. Give your brain a break and spend the time resting, reading an uplifting book or doing any of the above options.
  • And lastly, get yourself to an energy healing session! If you are attuned to healing energy, give yourself self-treatment. But even better, let someone else give you a treatment. This is a must-do for anyone in the healing arts. A healing session is like getting a spiritual massage. It is an excellent way to rebalance your energy and kick Dr. Depleted out the door!

And remember, give yourself permission to take a vacation or stay-cation once or twice a year. Go to a place that inspires you, or rejuvenate by staying at home and doing things that you never get to do (and no, that does not mean checking off your to-do list).

Everyone is busy … I know because I’m not immune to it. But there is no excuse for us to neglect ourselves. A to-do list is just that … something to do when you have time. So take the time to take care of yourself and everyone around you will benefit. Just give it a try and notice how easily you can work this into your schedule. So if I practice what I preach, will you?

Why I love crystals so much

Whenever I mention that I am a crystal healer, I get one of two reactions: (1) people think I’ve gone woo woo, or (2) people think it’s cool and want to know more. For the people who think I’ve become a wack-a-doo, I simply remind them that I’m a licensed attorney, attorneys require evidence and proof of things, and I’ve experienced the power of what crystals can do. Case closed! LOL

But even if I were not an attorney, I would still have proof of what I have experienced with crystals (for myself and clients), such as:

  1. Achieving a sense of ease in life;
  2. Not being at the whim of outside influences;
  3. Encountering change with grace;
  4. Living life in awe and not in fear;
  5. Having balanced and stable emotions;
  6. Feeling positive;
  7. Better handling of toxic and negative people;
  8. Better sleep;
  9. Physical vitality;
  10. And my cats lay on top of crystals (and animals are drawn to healing).

I believe that so many different energy therapies can help you achieve some or all of these experiences. But when I began the serious study of crystals a few years ago (and loaded my home with them), the shifts were obvious. Yes, I have a ridiculous number of crystals in my home and in my healing practice. Sometime soon, I will create a videotape showing you how much I have.

A body grid to help with fear

For my clients, I include crystals in almost all healing sessions; I have crystals in my healing room and classes; I create crystal grids on clients during sessions and also environmental grids that send out healing.

I have filled my home, work space, and healing space with crystals. I have crystals under my bed (Selenite is great), between me and my computer (Black Tourmaline transmutes the negative EMFs), Rose Quartz everywhere (to help my senior kitty Lucy be kinder to my kitten Rudy). I wear crystals constantly, I travel with them, I have them in my garden to welcome the animals. And if there is a place where I cannot take a crystal, I take my crystal elixirs and spritz the area. I am never without crystals. We are bombarded with so much electrical energy and toxic human energy each day and crystals can help to keep our energy field in balance. And when our energy field is balanced, our body/mind/spirit is healthy.

Don’t worry … You do not need to be a crystal hoarder like I am! Just a few crystals will really help. Go to your local new age store or check out online merchants like Healingcrystals.com or Allipacha.com. See what crystals you are drawn to and it will tell you what you need to work on to balance your life. And the size matters! Crystals give off energy, and the larger the crystal the larger the energy field that it will envelop. Get yourself some crystal books (check out my recommendations on Amazon). Take a class (check out my Introduction to Vibrational Healing on June 15th or my Crystal classes coming up later this summer). Once you start to learn about crystals, you will be amazed at how much they have to offer.
