Healing tools for Eclipse Seasons: Change and Transformation

I love to follow astrology because it often explains why things are happening. You don’t have to be an expert master astrologer to know and feel the intense energies that have been on us for the past year or so.

Well, we’re in for another intense time starting July 12, 2018 (starting at 9:48pm/eastern) with a new moon and partial solar eclipse. Then we have a full moon and lunar eclipse on July 27, 2018 (starting at 1:14pm/eastern and the eclipse will be the longest this century) followed by a new moon and partial solar eclipse on August 11, 2018 (starting at 4:02am/eastern). None of these eclipses can be seen from North America, but many people will certainly feel them.

So what does this all mean? You can learn more about sun, moon and eclipse energies and how they impact you in this blog post, but here’s some specifics about this eclipse season so that you are prepared.

New Moon with Partial Solar Eclipse – This eclipse may bring up a lot of unresolved emotions, changes in the family unit, and pushing us out of our comfort zones while helping us to transform and move out of old patterns. This eclipse is all about highlighting our subconscious patterns that have been holding us back and this will all come to the surface. Oh goodie (she says sarcastically)! Ultimately this will help us to understand ourselves better, to release stuck patterns and will benefit us long term. It’s really important to go with the flow, let this happen, and don’t fight it. You may feel hugely uncomfortable during this time but imagine it like the birthing process …. It’s painful but ultimately beautiful on the other side.

Full Moon with Lunar Eclipse – This eclipse will have the strongest impact because it’s in Leo (which is my sun sign, oh more fun!). It will trigger a lot of turbulent energy because this eclipse is about letting go of what no longer serves us (even if it’s comfortable). It may bring up repressed energy and feelings (like anger). This is an intense frustrated energy where you will feel like you need to jump into something and may act impulsively. It’s a time where you may experience a lot of change and upheaval, and it’s also a time to surrender for the best change. So think about anything that you feel needs to be changed and if you’ve been thinking about this change for a while then it’s a good time to take action. If it’s something new, then hold off for now. And also be more forgiving to people who say and do things that are hurtful and unkind because they may not know how to handle this energy.

New Moon with Partial Solar Eclipse – This eclipse will highlight Mercury Retrograde (from July 26 – August 19, 2018). This is a chance for new beginnings in the sign of Leo (which is the energy of leading and moving forward even in the face of obstacles). From the powerful eclipse season last summer, we’ve gone thru a lot of changes and this is the last chance for new beginnings. It’s a time to rethink and redo where we are going and a time to focus on changes that need to happen. It’s a time to rethink and readjust, and letting go of responsibilities to other people. It’s a time where we need to surrender and release control, deal with power struggles, and just let go. Take in what’s going on, loosen up, and allow something better to come in. In the Law of Attraction, this is called receiving.

Wow, that all sounds fairly ominous. But we’ve been through powerful energies like this and survived. So what can you do to be and feel your best during this turbulent time?

Here are 5 tips to help keep you grounded and flowing during this season:

(1) Lots of self care, such as spending time with the elements you feel most drawn to (water, mountains, sun, etc.). Make a point everyday during this month-long eclipse season to practice self care.

(2) Lots of meditation and quiet time to keep your mind from going to the place of fear.

(3) Get moving with yoga, exercise, walking so that the energies don’t build up in you.

(4) Use true therapeutic-grade essential oils (not fragrance oils) to help with the transformation part of these eclipses because when you smell a real essential oil it goes into the limbic region and emotional area of the brain. My recommendations for this time are:

  • Surrender blend = the energy of this blend feels like a pressure valve releasing controlling and overbearing behavior (because we cannot control what happens around us, only our response). It helps to release resistance to change, learn to embrace what cannot be controlled and go with the flow. This is the oil where you stop paddling upstream and, instead, drop your oars and let the river turn your boat around to head with ease in a better direction.
  • Acceptance blend = the energy of this blend is soothing when you need to stop pushing against and resisting what is happening in your life. It helps you to accept when you know that you need a new direction, when you need to embrace change, but change feels scary.
  • Awaken blend = the energy of this blend can open you to your potential, help you with meditation, visualization and manifesting so that you can make the personal changes to manifest your dreams.
  • Believe blend = the energy of this blend shifts you to believing what right now you cannot believe. It works on despair and inadequacy to help you feel empowered even when the future is unknown or uncertain.
  • Into the Future blend = the energy of this blend is about moving forward and leaving the past in the past, helping you to visualize a new future, to release fear and take leaps of faith. It’s a great oil to use when you know your potential but you’re afraid to go for it.

(5) If you’re a crystal geek like me, the crystals I will be piling on top of me during meditation time and sleep time will be:

  • Clevelandite = If you want to read an article I wrote just on this crystal, you can find it at healingcrystals.com. In a nutshell, this a crystal of profound life change by helping you to focus on exactly what change you need and showing you what you have in your life to help you succeed.
  • Danburite = excellent for deep change, leaving the past behind, bringing patience and peace of mind during transformation.
  • Elestial Quartz = a stone of change and transformation to set you on your life path.
  • Labordorite = a stone of transformation that is highly protective, helps to banish fears and insecurities during change.
  • Larimar = a deeply nurturing crystal that helps to calm the mind and body into a meditative state, helps you to go with the flow, brings equilibrium during change and helps to guide the soul on its true path.

Eclipses are all about mindset. So either you can worry, fret and fight it every step of the way and feel miserable. Or you can relax, accept and let the energies move you into a place that you likely could not dream of happening.

What other tools do you like to use during intense energies? Please post a comment so that we can all share and learn!

Your 2015 Word

Each year a word comes to me that I know will play a big part in how my year unfolds. It is a word to inspire me and keep me focused. It is a word that just comes to me intuitively. So how do you pick a word? Check out this blog from a year ago where I explain the process.

My word for 2013 was expansion and WOW did I expand with loads of new classes and writing. It was exhausting and exhilarating! For 2014 it was balance because I was working way too much (12-14 hour days) and it was zapping my creativity. I can say that I achieved balance by the end of the year. And for 2015 I feel that the word is not just for me but is for everyone. That word is movement!

2015 year of movement

What does movement mean? The messages that have come to me are saying that movement in 2015 is about:

  • moving to a new home, a new city, or a new state;
  • moving to a new job or an entirely new career (taking that leap of faith to start that passion career);
  • moving into healthy relationships;
  • moving in the form of exercise or a better physical movement plan that you will stick to throughout the year;
  • moving towards a more organized life;
  • moving towards having solid goals that you actually achieve in 2015;
  • moving into a heart-centered life;
  • moving along your soul path;
  • moving along in your spiritual practice;
  • moving your beliefs to where they support rather than hinder;
  • moving your actions to where you listen to your intuition, are present to see messages, and then take inspired action; and
  • moving into alignment of all that you are, away from fear and to what you are on this Earth to do.

Movement is a loaded word; depending on where you are on this path called life, it could involve one or more of these movements. In speaking with many of my friends, colleagues and clients, I feel that everyone is going to go through a movement in 2015. I do not believe that this will be a shakeup that has everyone feeling anxious and disconnected like in recent years; instead, it will be a shift in the reality beneath your feet to nudge you in the direction you need to go. The movement will feel right even if there are no outward signs that say “go this way.”

For me, movement is already happening and it is so freaking exciting I can barely sit still! I am filled with enormous energy to get things in place and I am taking bold steps because it feels right. And when you feel excited with those I can do anything emotions, the Universe begins to dramatically line things up.

As I say to so many people:

You’re at A and you want to get to Z. You do not need to know specifically what to do from B to Y. All you need to know is the next step to take. After that, you will receive the next step, and the next step, and so on. These steps come in the form of intuition (hey, do this!), messages (like the church sign that said “You need to meditate!”), signals (a serendipitous happening that has meaning, even in the form of a Facebook post that is inspiring). When you are inspired and it feels right, snuff out the fear voice and take the step. When you look back in 6 or 12 months, you will be amazed how far you have come.

If you are satisfied with every aspect of your life, then you can ignore this. If not, think about what movement needs to or must happen in your life in 2015 to get you to where you want to be. Then think of another word that is personal to you and add that in.

Change it up baby … live in awe!

When most people hear the word change, they cringe. Change to be uncomfortable, unpredictable, and unwanted in most circumstances. Most often because change has happened unexpectedly (like losing a job, divorce, a scary health diagnosis, death of a loved one). But change is necessary in order for us to survive. If you’re not changing, you’re not growing. If you’re not growing, you’re dying.

Change does not have to be scary; it is a natural part of life. Everything on this planet (heck, in the Universe and beyond) changes every day. Your cells are changing all of the time. I cannot think of one thing that is not in a constant state of change. So why is it that humans cling to consistency like a life vest? It’s because we’re afraid of the unknown. It’s because we let fear convince us that what’s on the other side is a bad thing. But remember what fear stands for: False Expectations Appearing Real.

Let me ask you this …. Why does the unknown have to be bad? I believe it is because most people have an internal program to expect the worst but prepare for the best. Ironic, eh? How many of us have grown up with that belief being repeated endlessly? That sends a conflicting message and the Universal Mind looks back at you and says “huh?” The Law of Attraction cannot bring you the best when you prepare for the worst. We expect and prepare for worst-case scenarios because this is how we were raised. And when we watch current events, that belief is reinforced. It’s time to jump off of that old-belief train TODAY!

Change and the unknown can be very very good. It can be exciting to know that something better is around the corner. It’s all in your perception though. You can see amazing opportunities at the corner, or the boogey monster. So how can you get yourself to a place where you look to the future without fear? It’s called awe.

When you live life in awe, you look forward to change, see the good in change, and then you respond to change with grace. You approach life with open arms rather than curled up in a ball in the corner of the room. You wake up each morning and look forward to something new and different happening. Living in awe is like riding a rollercoaster with your hands in the air yelling WOO HOO! Living in fear of change is like trying to crawl backwards through the rollercoaster that is going to keep moving forward whether you like it or not. So which would you rather have? Woo hoo or exhaustion?

Sadly, I see people every day choosing exhaustion. They choose to live the same unfulfilled/unhappy/uninspired life because making a decision to improve their existence is scary. They simply do not have the strength to help themselves. In the past month, I have spoken with many people who are desperate to improve their lives, better their health, live life with positivity and passion, and have a say in how their life unfolds. Yet most admitted that they were afraid to take a step in that direction. I could sense their exhaustion. This is what I told them: If you don’t invest in yourself, who will? Only you can live your life. No one can live it for you. And you definitely cannot put the burden on other people to make you happy, keep you comfortable and provide safety. That can only come from within.

Deciding that you want more out of life does not have to be scary. It’s frankly exhilarating once you start on the journey! So if you know that something in your life needs to change, make the decision and let me be your support system. You will be happy that you did!

My coaching system that holistically uses energy laws and healing will support you and help you ride the rollercoaster of change with awe. When you’re ready to live in awe, contact me and let’s see if we’re a good fit to work together.

All my best,

Change: A Scary Rollercoaster or an Exhilarating Adventure?

Enjoy the journeyHuman beings have been conditioned to fear change. Throughout our life, we have been taught to seek the comfort and calmness of consistency. We cling to consistency so that we know when our next paycheck will arrive, where we will lay our head to sleep that night, that we will have food to nourish us, and that we will have our loved ones by our side. But as we all know, change is a part of life.

So do you see change as a scary rollercoaster that throws you around on the track called life causing you unbearable nausea and fear? Or do you feel the exhilaration of the ride knowing that if you let go and let God that you will arrive at a new destination to walk the path that is true to your life purpose? When we can step out of our own way and let our right path line up, we find that life goes a lot easier and we don’t experience so many bumps on the path.

Change is inevitable. It happens every day. We see it all around us as foreign governments topple, the U.S. government is at a breaking point, the financial markets fluctuate with uncertainty, the housing market wimpers, and the safety net from years gone by is no longer there. Or is the safety net really gone?

The safety net is all in our mind and our attitude. If we feel safe and secure amongst the change, then we will life a more stable life. We all know people who have encountered significant change in their life. Either they have lost their job, lost their home, lost their financial security, lost their health, lost a loved one, lost a marriage, and so on. Some people surrender to the change, embrace it and shine as they are taken on a new path and they end up telling us that they are in a better place. They get to the better place quicker, too. While others cling to the past, filled with fear and fret, and struggle to maintain a sense of balance. They resist the change and end up suffering much angst as it takes longer for them to arrive on their right path. How is it that 2 people can encounter the same situation and yet based on their attitude can experience drastically different results?

It’s all in the attitude baby! Do you have an attitude of gratitude? Or, for you cat lovers … do you have a cattitude and can land on all fours when you’re in a free fall? Your attitude and outlook will depend on how you ride the rollercoaster.

I have encountered some serious change in the past decade. Nine years ago, I refused to back down on wrongdoing that I uncovered at an animal shelter where I volunteered. At the time, I was a top gun prosecuting attorney handling felony and highly sensitive criminal cases. I refused to compromise my morals and cover up corruption. As a result, I had to walk away from my chosen profession. That set in motion a significant amount of change that included having to move from my beloved home state of Michigan to find employment in Alexandria, Virginia. The move was traumatic and unbearable. I did not embrace it. I was relieved to find the comfort of a financial security blanket of my new employer (that still kept me in my chosen profession of prosecution), but I was not embracing my new life. As a result, I struggled for the first three years to find my place, create new friendships, and join in the new community. Because I did not embrace the move to a new part of the country, my progress and ability to feel settled took significantly longer. Because I resisted, the Universe was unable to send me gifts through the brick wall of resistance. Once I accepted my reality and began to embrace the change was I able to see all that was available to me on this new path. What I discovered on this path in this new location was a spiritual path. That spiritual path led to the creation of Manifested Harmony and the extensive training I have undergone in the healing and coaching arts. Nine years ago, I didn’t even know what Reiki, energy healing or the Law of Attraction was. Today, these concepts are at the foundation of who I am. Had I stayed in my previous life, I do not believe I would have found this spiritual path. I now realize that the Universe set in motion a series of events to boot me off of my prior path and onto a new one (though I fought it like a little girl caught in a braid-pulling contest). And in the past week, I know that the Universe is again realigning my path to bring me more into who I am supposed to be.

Today, I now embrace change because change can be fulfilling and thrilling. Change is all around us. I energetically sense that significant change is on the horizon for all of us. If we look at this change as a boogey man ready to jump out from under our bed to drag us under and devour us, then the change will devour us and it will take longer to find comfort and safety. However, if we view the impending change as the Universe charting out a path that we are meant to travel in order to fully develop who we are to be, and that path will allow us to live the lives that we truly want, then I think every person would quickly hop onto that path. Right?

I share the story of my past decade to show the difficult path (so don’t do that!!). Don’t fight change; embrace it. Don’t cling to the status quo and how things have been. Life evolves every day and we are here to evolve, too. Don’t ride the rollercoaster thinking that it’s the end of your life; instead ride the coaster, scream your lungs out with excitement and exhilaration knowing that you will land safely on your right path. Everyone has a path to take in this life. You entered this world with goals to achieve. If you are on the wrong path, life will kick you around to get you onto the right path. So if you have suffered losses, embrace them as having served a purpose in your life but knowing that you needed to go down a different road in order to fully blossom who you are supposed to be. If you are being kicked around, take some time to celebrate and thank your past. Have a ceremony where you reflect on your past and then let it go into the memory scrapbook.

The Law of Attraction tells us that if we fear change, then we will draw in more change that we fear. Whereas if we realize that change is meant to help us grow into the best person we can be, who would ever deny that?

So today, and every day, start your day with the intention that you are open to change so that you can live your best life. After all, what’s the point of being here on Earth if we’re not living to our truest potential. Embrace change and let me know how you’re dealing with the change that currently fills the air. If you struggle with change and want to live life with ease, contact me about coaching with the Law of Attraction.
