Energy sensing: It’s how we connect

Reiki on AmethystWhen I give an energy therapy session, I perform an energy sensing technique with my hands that can give me some good insights to help me focus on areas that need extra attention. I receive messages through the channels in my hands. But have you ever done this on an inanimate object?

Have you ever been drawn to a place yet did not know why? Have you ever gone to a location, a building, a city, a lake and “felt” the energy? You felt connected, at ease, like you were home? When that happened, did you take the time to figure out why?

Earlier this month I was on a glorious vacation in Scotland. Initially I was hesitant to book the vacation, but then something bigger took over and I knew I needed to go. As soon as I landed on Scottish ground, I knew I was with “my” energy … I knew that I was “home.” With every location, castle, and loch that I visited, it felt natural; connecting with people was effortless. This is when you know that you are in an energetically compatible location; a place where you will thrive.

I also spent time energy sensing on several castles. You do not have to be attuned to energy healing to sense energy from locations, but if you are attuned you will be more receptive. It’s a wonderful method to pick up messages, history, feelings from the past; it’s a way to receive natural guidance. All you have to do is place your hands on the object or even just sit quietly in the location and open yourself to listening with all of your senses.

Eilean Donan castle
Eilean Donan castle

One castle that I energy sensed on was the Eilean Donan castle (one of the most photographed castles in the world that was also featured in the movie Made of Honor with Patrick Dempsey). As I laid my hands on the exterior walls, and even pressed my ear against the wall, I could feel what the castle wanted to tell me. Many of the messages were personal, but I felt that the castle had suffered through bad times but was energetically breathing a sigh of relief at the calm of the present; an overall sense of joy and frivolity.

Dundonald Castle
Dundonald Castle

I also energy sensed on the ruins of the Dundonald Castle. I felt the lingering of pain, loss, destruction, and sadness. I could feel the castle weeping. So I spent some time infusing Reiki into the castle walls in an effort to heal whatever had happened. Both castles had suffered numerous battles and losses, so why was one happy and the other sad? I believe that the infusion of energy from curious tourists is contributing to the energy of the castles. Eilean Donan is one of the most popular castles in Scotland and has hundreds of thousands of visitors a year; whereas Dundonald is not as popular so has fewer tourists sharing their energy.

Sounds crazy, right? To those who are intuitive and understand energy, this makes sense that we leave our energy everywhere we go. To the rest, it may sound bonkers. So here’s my wish … the next time you are drawn to a vacation location or a particular building, spend a little time to ask yourself why and then just relax and sit in the energy of that location and building to feel the message. Leave a little of your energy behind so that you are always connected with the location. When you can open yourself to the messages of locations, it will give you more information about who you are!

I’d love to hear from you if you’ve experienced this before!

Authenticity and Intuition

These days, I hear the word authenticity being used a lot to identify whether a person, a business, or a situation is genuine, or just putting on a fake presence.  For me, it is about being who I really am at the core in my personal life and my business life. For those who know me (or those who are getting to know me), I’m an interesting bag of sharp and quick legal-mind, unabashedly unafraid public speaker and radio/TV interviewee, confident and wildly creative spiritual goddess, crystal junkie, angel converser, very outspoken animal advocate, lover of all animals big and small, published author who writes constantly (like this), Universal Law groupie, claircognizant who just knows stuff, rabid reader and student of all things spiritual and good, eater of green veggies for breakfast, not afraid to share advice in a truthful and gentle way, and I hope a good friend and family member. (exhale … man, that is an interesting bag of stuff of what folks have said to me over the years!)

Manifested Harmony is one way that I’m putting my authenticity out into the world (I also do this in my animal protection work … never hesitating to speak my mind to get people motivated). Here, I am creating a sacred space for people to join in online or in person to enjoy healing and reshape their thinking in alignment with Universal laws so that they can stop struggling and start living. A space for people to find a different way to help their companion animals who may have physical or behavioral issues. A space filled with butterflies, angels, kittens, puppies, tulips, daisies, fluffy white clouds in a blue sky, Blue Moon ice cream and organic cheese popcorn (ok, that’s a weakness, but still yummy).

In creating this space, I listen to my intuition. I do this before and during each healing session so that I can craft the session to what the person or animal best needs. I do this before and during each coaching session so that I’m not giving a cookie-cutter coaching session (I’ve seen way too much of that) but instead I really listen to the client and talk about what they really need to hear. I do this in the classes that I create and teach.

The more I follow my intuition, the more people like you find their way to this space. And the more I hear things like “Thank you for never failing to inspire me, Allie! I follow your blog and Facebook posts and was guided to take the CCH class from Hibiscus Moon because of you. Your other areas of interest fascinate me as well and I’m sure I’ll be exploring them as I follow my spiritual path.” (Gosh, that was just the nicest thing that someone said to me this week.)

Confession: There have been times where I have not fully listened to my intuition. In growing this sacred space, I hear from all different types of business leaders. Most of the methods do not resonate with me (they are too corporate and Manifested Harmony is definitely not corporate). I have tried a few methods and they have not worked because this is not a business … it’s a sacred space!! What that says to me is that I need to trust my intuition 100% of the time, be authentically me, and I will reach the people who resonate with that. It’s the ultimate in the Law of Attraction … like attracts like.

So today I declare …. NO MORE LISTENING TO CORPORATE GURU’S OR DOING WHAT WORKS FOR OTHER PEOPLE (as I shout at the top of my lungs into the breezy air today). I have a handful of spiritual business friends who have given me great advice and I will continue to listen. But in the end I will trust me and my birth child called Manifested Harmony to grow at her own pace and to welcome the friends who will cherish and benefit from the sacred space created.

If this all resonates with you, check out our upcoming classes, contacting me for healing session, or let’s hop on Skype for some one-on-one coaching. I’m here to help you find your authenticity and intuition!

Authentically yours, Allie

All Hallow’s Eve: Sacred or Spooky?

Allie as Progressive Flo

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. It gives me, and other adults, full permission to dress up in costumes and participate in the merriment. And there’s always the bonus of candy the next day. The history of Halloween and the sacred Celtic Festival of Samhain (pronounced sow-in) have always fascinated me.

Halloween, or All Hallow’s Eve, is the day before All Saint’s Day (November 1st).  All Saint’s Day was enacted in the 8th century by Pope Gregory III and is a day for us to honor saints and martyrs. The Celts also celebrated their new year on November 1st. The evening before, the Celts celebrated Samhain as a time to say goodbye to summer and prepare for winter. They believed that the boundaries between the living and dead were thin on this day, thus giving a small portal for the ghosts of the dead to return to earth. It is also believed to be a time where making predictions was more accurate. For a culture that was dependent on living off of the land, these prophecies were important as they entered the colder winter months. In the festival of Samhain, the Celts wore costumes as they celebrated around a fire (and I’ll leave out the commentary about the animal sacrifices). At the end of the festival, the fire was taken to the individual homes to protect the people from the winter weather.

Lucy the Angel

In the last half of the 19th century, with the infusion of European immigrants, Halloween came to America. Some of the traditions were practices in America, and Samhain continues to be celebrated by some groups. Eventually, Halloween became more about community than witchcraft and ghosts in America. The tradition of trick-or-treating is believed to date back to parades in England commemorating All Soul’s Day (November 2nd). And Americans have continued the tradition of dressing in costume that was done centuries earlier as a way to confuse ghosts into thinking the person was a ghost.

Sammy the Butterfly

And while Halloween has been Americanized by slasher movies that depict scary ghosts and monsters, it was a time that families felt closest to those who passed on and their efforts to connect to these departed souls, even setting a place at the table for them. And the superstitious who don’t want to cross the path of a black cat … well, that dates back to the Middle Ages when people believed that witches would transform in to cats to avoid detection.

Halloween is rich in tradition. For me, it’s a day where I have historically had greater intuition and connection to the Earth. It’s also a day to be creative in my costume making (for me and my cats). So give yourself some quiet time to see what perceptions come to you on Halloween, connect with family that has passed on, and get creative in your costume design!

Have a wickedly excellent All Hallow’s Eve (cue the Vincent Price laugh)!

Happy Halloween!

Intuition

“Simply by doing what we intuitively know we MUST do, we begin to attract those people, events and situations into our lives that help bring about those dramatic positive shifts we so often attribute to the Law of Attraction.” This is my favorite quote that hangs above my computer. It reinforces for me to spend my time on things that feel right, or resonate with me. In essence, those things that intuitively are in alignment with who I am.

So what are you intuitively doing in your life so that you attract people, events and situations to help you manifest what you desire? For me, it’s doing work (whether I get paid or not) in the areas that I love such as helping people find the path to live their best lives, helping animals, and healing. And in a society where we need money to survive, I only think of that secondary to intuitively following my hearts desires; and sure enough, the money shows up. It encompasses a Universal Law: What you sow, is what you reap.

So what are you sowing? Are you tapped in to your intuition and do you listen to it? Are you spending your time and energy on things, people and situations that bring you joy, or are you caught in the busyness of life doing things that do not make your heart sing?

Intuition is a shy little friend. But once you coax it out, it can guide you to taking chances and living the life you desire. After all, we are here to live OUR best life; not the life according to our family, society or our boss. And when you listen to your intuition and begin living your authentic life, you feel better physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually, and you feel an unyielding trust that the Universe will support you in ways you have never experienced. We hear stories all the time of people who left a 6 or 7 figure position on Wall Street or with a Fortune 500 company so that they could open a yoga studio or start a dog walking business. And they find success!

So how do you tap in to your intuition so that you can find your authentic life path? Here are some tips:

  • Meditate to quiet your mind. When you can quiet the non-stop chatter in your mind, the echos of your intuition will ring in your ears. It’s like walking into a cave. If you are talking in the cave, all you hear is your voice. But if you stop talking, you will hear the natural sounds of the cave speak to you. Take a least 15 minutes a day (twice a day is better) to sit and be quiet. Just focus on breathing in and out. Intuition speaks to you in the form of thoughts, ideas and voices (no, not the crazy voices!). Intuition is supportive and positive; whereas your ego is critical and fearful.
  • Receive energy healing to remove any energetic blocks to your intuition. Energy healing feels like a spiritual massage. Afterwards, you are clear and open to hearing your intuition.
  • Ask for guidance and look for signs. When you pose a question to your higher self, your intuition will answer. The answer may be subtle, so you need to look for signs.

Last year when I was refocusing my career, I was driving and asked “What do you want me to do?” I pulled up to a stop light, looked to my right and there was a church sign that said “Meditation is the answer to all of your questions.” I laughed at the obvious message. And just this week as I wondered what action I could take to help Manifested Harmony reach more people and reduce suffering and struggling during these difficult times, I was driving and saw a deer. The deer was in a location where I would not expect it to be. It caught my eye and I knew it was a sign. The deer animal totem stands for being gentle and not pushing to make something happen. It is about innocence and freshness in something that is awakening. So that told me to be gentle and let the message of Manifested Harmony resonate with people.

Intuition is your guiding light and will never steer you wrong. It will offer you paths and gently suggest the right path while still allowing your free will. If you listen to those whispers, you will walk on your authentic path. It will take some time to reprogram your mind to quiet itself so that you can hear your intuition. So do not give up after a few attempts. This needs to be a standard part of your life.

I encourage you to give this a try. Then write to me and let me know how your intuition is helping to draw people, events and situations into your life that are in alignment with who you truly are.
