Do you long for days gone by?

Over the Memorial Day weekend, I visited my family in Michigan and had a chance to connect with someone dear to me that I had not seen for 10 years. I moved from Michigan to Virginia almost 10 years ago and it was a difficult move for me; yet looking back I know why it was necessary. I am grateful that I am able to travel home about 3 times a year. With each trip, I like to visit places and see people that were a part of my daily life back then. But every now and then I still find myself wishing to move back home.

It is wonderful to remember good times and learn from difficult times. Many reflect on when life was easier and sweeter. It’s healthy to visit the past so that you can reflect on where you come from, where you’ve been, and use those memories to plot your path. But living in the past will actually stop you enjoying life.

But what about those who live in the past and long for days gone by? I have been there and it’s not living. When we spend most of our thoughts and emotions on things that happened in the past, we are not living in the present and we cannot plan for the future. Do any of these ring true?

  • You are focused on reconnecting with friends and ex’s from your past;
  • You surf the internet to find people from your past (whether you want to connect with them or not);
  • When you connect with people from your past, your conversation primarily focuses on the past and not on the present or future;
  • You do not want to part with any objects from your past;
  • You have not been able to forgive people, thus keeping you connected to those past hurtful events;
  • You struggle to live in the present and to appreciate all that is around you right now;
  • You cannot focus on charting your path for the future.

If you relate to this list, do not feel bad. Just recognize that when you are so focused on the past, you are not living today and it will be difficult for you to see the miracles and gifts that are offered to you each day. It’s like driving a car: If you are focused just on the present you are looking through the floorboards; it you are focused just on the future you are focused 20 feet ahead of you; and if you are focused just on the past, you are looking in the review mirror. We do not drive using just one of these methods, right? You can get into a dangerous situation if you are solely focusing on one view. We look all around us for the best and safest view.

According to the Law of Attraction, your past is a world that does not exist anymore. That energy is gone. You can cherish the memories, but you cannot live them because that energy does not exist today.

Finding a balance between living the past, present and future is healthy.  This is my personal equation that I live by: 10% past/memories; 55% present and 45% future. I believe that it is important to put most of your energy on living each day to its fullest, otherwise life will pass you by if you are looking too far ahead or behind. You will miss the messages, signals and miracles that help you plot a beautiful future. But at the same point you need to set intentions and goals for the future, otherwise your life will collapse around you without direction. And bring the sweet memories and bitter lessons from the past to help you be your best. Now that is a recipe for a sweet life.

Life is not meant to be difficult … So decide!

Can the two of us have a serious discussion? Is your life unfolding the way that you want? If you instantly answered no, do any of these situations apply to life right now?

  • You feel like you have no control of your life and are at the mercy of outside influences.
  • You have an oppressive boss, coworkers, spouse or family members.
  • You continue to attract negative and toxic people and situations, including people who backstab or put you down.
  • You often feel physically and emotionally drained, especially at the end of the day.
  • You have received a medical diagnosis that is concerning.
  • You lack vitality and have to drag yourself out of bed each day.
  • You feel victimized by the economy and may have lost your job.
  • You work in a job that brings you no joy or sense of fulfillment.
  • You long for healthy relationships or that one special relationship.
  • You have a bleak outlook on life.
  • You have dreams but lack the confidence and motivation to make them come true.
  • You feel like your life has gone down the wrong path and you feel out of balance.
  • You no longer know what you want out of life.
  • You have lost your mojo.

If you answered yes to even one of these items, it is one yes too many. Life is not meant to be difficult. Now repeat after me …. LIFE IS NOT MEANT TO BE DIFFICULT!!!!! Shout it at the top of your lungs!

So then why are you and so many others living a difficult life? I have the answer …. and the answer is fear. It’s fear in making a decision to live the life that you want. It’s fear of the unknown and what “might” happen if you decide. It’s fear of leaving behind old and negative energy which has become a comfortable friend. It’s fear of knowing exactly how powerful and strong you will be once you decide. Fear is not your friend sweet pea. So don’t invite fear into your life.

This week’s message is about deciding. DECIDE!!!!!!! Decide that enough-is-enough, that this is YOUR life, and that you are going to live it how you want. Now this doesn’t mean that you have to abandon your job, your spouse, your kids, your pets and run away to join a traveling rock band. What it means is that you take the first step and decide that life does not have to be difficult. You find a way to make your current life the best that it can be! Or maybe you decide that you need a complete life shake up? Either way, simply decide!

So how exactly does that happen? Here are a few steps to get you started:

  1. Decide that you want to live a fulfilled life. Until you make that decision, nothing will change.
  2. Take some time for yourself (preferably each day) to sit quietly, meditate, be in nature, to slow your mind down. This may take a little practice, but keep doing it. Each time, have a conversation with your higher self (that wise inner voice) and ask “what do I need to do today?” Listen to the first idea, voice or image that comes into your mind and that is your answer. If the answer is something on your to-do list, or is a negative/unsupportive voice, that’s your ego that you need to ignore. Keep asking until you hear an uplifting/positive voice giving you direction.
  3. Then take one step towards that answer that you received.
  4. After you take the first step, your inner voice will give you the next step, and so on.
  5. Be gentle on yourself during this process. Give the process time to play out. Do not put your human time demands on when you want to be at your final destination. Remember, life is a journey, not an event.
  6. Get support from friends and family. If they are not supportive, keep your goals to yourself so that you are not derailed by their fear,
  7. Keep a Fulfilled Life Journal so that you can track your daily progress. Then on those days where you feel like you are going nowhere, go back and read the first entry and you will be amazed at the progress you have made.
  8. Make this a daily (or at least a weekly) practice. When you do this, you will notice improvement.

Most people will read these ideas and say YES! This is me, I want to change and have a better life! And then they will go through their day/week/month/year and forget about it. They will do nothing. I have a simple solution to that. Invest in yourself and let me coach and support you through this process. I have done this for others and done this for myself and it works!

So many people have the best of intentions to take control of their lives (with a new diet, a new exercise plan, yoga and meditation every morning, etc.) but they do not follow through. It’s why New Year’s resolutions fail. Having someone support you, even when you want to give up and stop, is what will make the change happen and make it stick! I won’t let you fail.

I feel so strongly about helping people live better lives, I have an AMAZING OFFER!!!!!!!! My standard coaching fees are $150 per hour-long session. For the month of May, if you sign up for at least 6 coaching sessions, the fee will drop to $100 per hour-long session. You may think that this is a lot of money for you to spend. Here’s what I say: What’s the point of making money if you do not use some of it to invest in yourself? You invest in your home, in food, in clothing, in a car, in your pets, kids, etc. … but do you ever invest in yourself? Most respected coaches charge $400 per hour and higher. I want to make this process affordable for you, and I want you to make an investment in yourself. This investment will pay off in all areas of your life.

So instead of reading this, agreeing with what I’ve said, and then going back to your difficult life, make a decision to have the life that you want. 3 reasons to take energy healing classes

I am a natural-born teacher and I love to share information with people. Whether it’s a crowded room of over 1000 people, or a small class of two people, I love to watch people’s eyes open wide when teaching resonates deep within. I especially love to create interesting classes and share innovative ideas.

So I want to share with you 3 reasons why I think you would benefit greatly from taking the energy healing classes that I offer through Manifested Harmony:

  1. When you learn about how energy works to positively and negatively impact our body (or the body of your companion animal), you can take steps to make sure that you are living in a way to help your body thrive. And when your body is healthy and vital, the rest of your life goes smoothly.

I’m so mad!!!

Have you ever said that? Everyone has had a moment (or 100) where they feel anger. If you are a Law of Attraction groupie, you may berate yourself afterwards that your angry emotions put negative energy out into the world that will promptly come back to smack you upside the head. So you stuff your anger down, day after day, year after year, until one day you rival Mt. Etna’s spewing volcano that sweeps away every life form in a firey mess. Or worse, you build a nice little ulcer. Sound familiar?

Some people are angry all the time; whereas other people rarely seem to go there. So what’s the secret? What’s a consciously aware Law-of-Attractionite to do? When you put negative out into the world, it will come back to you. I don’t think anyone disputes that anymore. But that doesn’t mean that you are expected to live a pristine life of peace and peonies all of the time. Living in the real world would make that virtually impossible. And when you swallow your anger, it will burn you from the inside and give you a physical condition that you don’t want.

This is what I have learned to do to maintain a positive vibration and safely release the anger:

  • Accept that anger is a natural human emotion. Unless you are a monk or live alone on an island, you cannot be a human without experiencing it at some point.
  • How you use and vent the anger is important. If you use it to harm another person or animal, that is negative energy and you will go to jail (and then you’ll really have something to be angry about). If you use it to empower yourself to correct an injustice, then that is positive energy. I used anger to write my first book (and boy did that feel good to pound out the words on my computer and then see it in print).
  • It is not okay to simply spew your anger words on unsuspecting innocents, ever. For a person or situation that is causing anger, remember that angry words and actions only create the energy of more angry actions. So for those people or situations that cause you anger, go outside and scream your words or yell into a pillow first. Even just going outside to ground yourself, be with nature or breathe fresh air will really help. Doing something physical is the fastest way to expel the anger. And once you expel the intensity, then you can have a blunt but not angry conversation with the person involved.
  • If you’re just welling up with anger for no apparent reason, it is likely past anger that was suppressed and something small can trigger it. When that happens, remember to not take it out on the innocents in your area. Step away, go outside, go for a walk/run, and expel that energy.

It is important to not suppress energy in your body. Anger stored in the body will manifest as a physical issue eventually. I discuss this in the Integrated Energy Therapy Classes that I teach. So when you feel anger, do not berate yourself and make it worse. Accept that you feel it, then expel it in a safe way. You will be able to do this quickly and not worry about having a sustained negative vibration.  Win Win!

Authenticity and Intuition

These days, I hear the word authenticity being used a lot to identify whether a person, a business, or a situation is genuine, or just putting on a fake presence.  For me, it is about being who I really am at the core in my personal life and my business life. For those who know me (or those who are getting to know me), I’m an interesting bag of sharp and quick legal-mind, unabashedly unafraid public speaker and radio/TV interviewee, confident and wildly creative spiritual goddess, crystal junkie, angel converser, very outspoken animal advocate, lover of all animals big and small, published author who writes constantly (like this), Universal Law groupie, claircognizant who just knows stuff, rabid reader and student of all things spiritual and good, eater of green veggies for breakfast, not afraid to share advice in a truthful and gentle way, and I hope a good friend and family member. (exhale … man, that is an interesting bag of stuff of what folks have said to me over the years!)

Manifested Harmony is one way that I’m putting my authenticity out into the world (I also do this in my animal protection work … never hesitating to speak my mind to get people motivated). Here, I am creating a sacred space for people to join in online or in person to enjoy healing and reshape their thinking in alignment with Universal laws so that they can stop struggling and start living. A space for people to find a different way to help their companion animals who may have physical or behavioral issues. A space filled with butterflies, angels, kittens, puppies, tulips, daisies, fluffy white clouds in a blue sky, Blue Moon ice cream and organic cheese popcorn (ok, that’s a weakness, but still yummy).

In creating this space, I listen to my intuition. I do this before and during each healing session so that I can craft the session to what the person or animal best needs. I do this before and during each coaching session so that I’m not giving a cookie-cutter coaching session (I’ve seen way too much of that) but instead I really listen to the client and talk about what they really need to hear. I do this in the classes that I create and teach.

The more I follow my intuition, the more people like you find their way to this space. And the more I hear things like “Thank you for never failing to inspire me, Allie! I follow your blog and Facebook posts and was guided to take the CCH class from Hibiscus Moon because of you. Your other areas of interest fascinate me as well and I’m sure I’ll be exploring them as I follow my spiritual path.” (Gosh, that was just the nicest thing that someone said to me this week.)

Confession: There have been times where I have not fully listened to my intuition. In growing this sacred space, I hear from all different types of business leaders. Most of the methods do not resonate with me (they are too corporate and Manifested Harmony is definitely not corporate). I have tried a few methods and they have not worked because this is not a business … it’s a sacred space!! What that says to me is that I need to trust my intuition 100% of the time, be authentically me, and I will reach the people who resonate with that. It’s the ultimate in the Law of Attraction … like attracts like.

So today I declare …. NO MORE LISTENING TO CORPORATE GURU’S OR DOING WHAT WORKS FOR OTHER PEOPLE (as I shout at the top of my lungs into the breezy air today). I have a handful of spiritual business friends who have given me great advice and I will continue to listen. But in the end I will trust me and my birth child called Manifested Harmony to grow at her own pace and to welcome the friends who will cherish and benefit from the sacred space created.

Finding gratitude everywhere

It’s all over the news that the federal government will be slashing federal employee wages 20% for a year beginning this Friday (in addition to cuts to numerous federal programs). As a resident of northern Virginia, I have many friends who are employed with the federal government in D.C. and they are understandably concerned that such a significant slash in pay could impact their ability to pay their bills or enjoy discretionary spending.  As one of my dear friends joked, “no more healing crystal purchases.” Sad, but true.

While I could go on a diatribe about how Congress is getting paid (thanks to the 27th Amendment to the Constitution) while the people really doing the work for our government are getting a pay cut (one that they had no say in), I want to switch the focus to gratitude. You’re probably thinking WHHAAATTT???? Yes, when something happens that we don’t want, it is so important to find gratitude in the situation. And it’s Grati-Tuesday!

When we can live our lives from a place of gratitude, we see the joy and beauty in everything, even situations that appear grim or sad to others. Your vibrational energy (in a nutshell, that is your thoughts/emotions/beliefs that vibrate from you) attracts like situations/people/things to you. So even when something is happening which appears out of your control, it is important to not let it be in control. Gratitude is the way to gain control.

So if you are one of the federal workers, how can you sit in a place of gratitude while you reassess your monthly budget and spending habits?

  • You can find gratitude that you still have a job and were not laid off.
  • You can find gratitude that you will have one day per week where you can do whatever you want!
  • It’s a good time to start that side business that makes your heart sing, or finish some education/training that you have been too busy to complete.
  • Spend time relaxing, meditating, getting involved in yoga, and taking care of yourself.
  • Unpaid time off does not have to be a bad thing. Thoroughly enjoy the time and make the most of it!
  • I have been in a similar situation. In the time I had available, I didn’t wallow … I was filled with gratitude for time and that’s when I created Manifested Harmony!!!

If you are experiencing any difficult situation involving employment, finances, or health, step back from the intense emotions of the situation, hover above it like a hot air balloon, and look at the situation from a distance. When you can detach this way, you are more likely to find gratitude in the situation. And in every situation, you can find at least one thing to be grateful about.

When you can view or be in a situation from a place of gratitude, you will be given more situations/people/events to be grateful about.  When you are in the situation filled with pity and fear, you will find more to be fearful about. We all know people who face adversity with grace and gratitude and they always end up in a better place. So this is the power of gratitude and is something that you can immediately put into play.  Give it a try!

Enjoy the Journey

Most people have goals and desires that they want to achieve in their lifetime, or this year, or even this week. These goals, when driven by passion, drive us to achieve them. And when the goal is reached, the joy of arrival is often short-lived because then a new desire is born and we start pursuing that. Does this sound familiar?

When deliberately working with the Law of Attraction, we are taught to create our intentions and consciously use our thoughts, feelings and actions to act as if it has already arrived. We are taught to keep our eye on the prize. And that certainly is true and necessary. However, a key component to the Law of Attraction is maintaining high vibrational energy from the creation of the intention through to the manifestation.  It is this journey that we are seeking in our manifestation.

You might be saying what????? Let me break it down … life is a journey, not an event. I think we all can agree on that. Each time we create a goal and meet that goal, it is quickly (and often immediately) replaced with another higher goal, and then another, and then another. Humans are never satisfied because once we achieve something, we want something better. It’s called growth. And if we’re not growing, we’re dying.

In the Law of Attraction, it is often reaching or maintaining a high emotional vibration that takes us off track and stops us from manifesting our goal. We second-guess and let fear intrude. Yet we know that if we cannot act as if what we want has already arrived (through the use of our feelings, thoughts, and actions), then we will not manifest our goal. We must have the feelings in place before the thing can ever arrive. And when it arrives, we feel fantastic, right? In fact, it is the feeling of what the thing does for us that we really crave. When we feel exhilarated about something to come, that is the real manifestation. And when we feel that, the tangible thing must arrive. As so bluntly stated by Abraham through Esther Hicks, The unfolding of the events to get us to good feelings and staying there in good feeling IS THE emotional manifestation to bring in the thing that we desire. And in that process, we must be diligent to not kill this emotional vibration with negative thoughts.

In simple terms, emotions before the physical manifestation. You must feel, not think, your manifestations into reality. Which means … enjoy the journey and you will reach the end result faster! After all, if we wait to enjoy good feelings until the arrival of our goal, we will not have a pleasant journey, and we will likely not receive what we want. So enjoy the day-to-day, step-by-step journey!

Stopping the downward spiral

We all have moments and days where we are caught in a downward spiral of negativity. It’s part of being human. Sometimes the negativity comes from an onslaught from other people, or it may simply come from one statement/incident that sends us on a deep dive into the depths of despair. For those who are deliberately working the Law of Attraction into their life, they may panic even more that this spiral will bring more unwanted things to them.

Here’s something to think about: It is okay to have a bad moment and not be punished by the Law of Attraction. When you are having a bad time, it is important to not criticize or judge yourself harshly for having those feelings. Part of our human experience on Earth is to experience a wide variety of feelings. So when you criticize yourself for having a bad moment or bad thought, that is precisely when the Law of Attraction picks up the negative vibration and matches you to like experiences that make you feel even worse.

Whaaattt????? Yes, it’s okay to thoroughly enjoy a bad mood, a hissy fit, a tantrum. Go for it! And here’s why …. when you bottle up negative emotion, it can cause physical and emotional ailments to embed in your energy field and will continue to send out the negative vibe at a subconscious level. But when you give yourself permission to be sad, mad, angry or frustrated, you take your negativity out of the equation and let it vent so it’s not bottled inside and giving off that icky vibe. On the flip side, when you are harsh on yourself for getting mad, sad, angry, frustrated, etc., that is the negative energy that stores in your energy field and gets sent out to the Universe. It’s that vibe that brings you things that you don’t want.

So give yourself permission to feel the feelings as they come to you. However, let’s not go overboard and become a drama queen, martyr or victim. Vent the emotions, let them go and then move on to a positive space. Stopping the cycle is important and only you can take control of that. How do you do that?

  • Go outside and scream!
  • When you’re driving in your car, have that conversation that you didn’t have.
  • Write a letter to the person you want to vibrationally smack and tell them how you feel (then go outside, burn it and send the energy to the Universe).

Then once you have expelled this energy, re-direct yourself to doing something that gives you joy. Re-directing is a technique that we use when interviewing children who have been abused. When they lose focus because of the difficulty of the discussion, we bring them back to center with a specific question about something they can talk about. So to bring you back into vibrational alignment with who you really are (which is a glorious human being), immediately do something you love. For me, I will write, coach someone into feeling better, go for a walk in nature, sit outside in the sun, read a book, play with crystals, spend time with my cats. The list is endless. This refocuses your attention on something positive and realigns your energy. It’s important to re-direct yourself to a positive aspect as soon as you expel the energy. Because once you create that void in your energy field where the negative energy was, you want to take control and fill it with something wonderful so that nothing else can sneak in.

You are driving me crazy!: Co-existing with difficult people

How many times have you said “(insert name) drives me crazy”, “(insert name) makes me so mad”, “I cringe when I see (insert name) walking towards me”, “(insert name) brings out the worst in me” and the list goes on.

We’ve all been there, we’ve all said those words, and we’ve all encountered people who are very difficult to deal with. They make us upset, angry, stressed out, afraid, negative and basically turn our otherwise happy disposition into a cesspool of icky emotions. There will always be people who try to bring out the worst in us (sorry, sweet pea). They go through life bitter, angry, oozing negativity, spreading fear and gossip with the unconscious (or sometimes conscious) goal of bringing the masses down to their level. Misery loves company is their life mission.

I have learned over the years that these people come to us to teach us lessons. You may have a life lesson to learn patience, or to be calm and centered during difficulty, or to be compassionate no matter what energy is being hurled at you. So to help you learn your lesson, these people keep popping up so that you can practice and master your lesson. These people also come to us to mirror what may be a part of our dark side that we have yet to acknowledge. What we complain about the most is often something deep within us that we dislike. So if someone complains about co-workers being lazy, they may struggle internally with their lazy nature.

So if you are a Law of Attraction deliberate creator working everyday to keep your energy vibration high so that you manifest your best life, how do you accomplish that around these people?

  • Do your best to avoid labeling these people. Notice I call them these people rather than continuing to call them bitter-anger-fear mongering-nasty-slim filled-creatures? (That made me giggle typing that). The Law of Attraction teaches us to be aware of labeling things. Instead of labeling something as good or bad, it really just is. We view our world through a lense of our beliefs and experiences. So while one person may view one of these people as hateful, another may view them as a broken spirit needing compassion. So work on dropping the labels.
  • Work everyday to keep your vibration high. You can do this by practicing gratitude. When you wake in the morning, list what you are grateful for. Do the same as you travel to work, enter the workplace, encounter people, eat your meals, travel home and go to bed. Gratitude Gratitude Gratitude should be your Attitude! Because when you keep your vibration high, it takes a lot more energy and time for these people to drag you down.
  • Limit your exposure to things that do not make you feel good. You are bombarded everyday by things that bring you down. News reports of war, murder and mayhem impact your vibration, as does stres, illness, and your own negative self-talk. As you encounter these people, set an intention that your encounter will be pleasant and brief. Then send out that vibration. Shower them with kindness and compassion. It’s really difficult for these people to barage you with negativity when you are showering them with kindness. Your vibration will catch them off guard and before they realize it, your encounter has ended and you have actually left them with a touch of positivity.
  • Be responsible for your reactions. These people can only bring you down if you let them. So be conscious throughout your day about how you’re feeling. If you notice yourself slipping down the slide of despair, put the brakes on and do something that brings you joy. For me, interacting with crystals and animals (which are all pure positive vibrations) bring me back up to who I truly am.
